I was going to get skin so soft but I just read on snopes that a study conducted and published in some medicine journal proved that it was only effective against mosquitos for 1 hour.
If I wear bug spray it's usually because I'm way out the sticks and getting eaten alive/picking up ticks/etc. So I just go full bore on their little bug asses and use the Deep Woods Off with deet.

I think I just need to suck it up and use the real stuff. The island I'm going to had a few cases of dengue fever last month so I want to make sure those mosquitos stay the heck away from me!
There's a new generation of conventional bug sprays (Off, etc) that now have a dry or silky feeling. Get those!! The difference is incredible. Old school bug sprays are nasty, but these new ones are pretty great.

If I'm going camping or something I use the actual Off. Sure it's not great for you, but it's the only thing that works to me. There's a tropical one that's okay.
Last time we were camping someone had on one of those little fans and she said it worked great, but I think she only used it in the evenings and still went though a pack of the refills.
