For the past few weeks I've noticed my outlet covers out and have found them laying in odd places. I thought maybe it was my older DD messing with them, but nope! I caught the baby taking them out like it was no big deal today. This kid is crazy and I think she might be one of those who will stick something in the outlet, so I need covers!
I have just cheap ones I got at Home Depot. I guess I need some "fancy" ones for her.

I can tell you that we have the cheap ones for the one outlet she has access to (yay old houses with pretty much no outlets?) and she figured out how to remove the cover about two minutes after we put it on. Luckily, for now, she seems to have lost interest in it.

Maybe she'll do the same. I'm just so worried that she'll stick something in one. She watches EVERYTHING we do, I can see the wheels the turning every time I plug something in!

I don't know of its just our outlets but we have the clear safety 1st covers and those things are like IN there for lyfe. I need to damn knife to pry them off just so I can plug my vacuum in.
They are good but I hate that even I can't get them off.

If you or someone you know is comfortable working with electrical stuff you can pick up what are called tamper proof outlets at home depot or lowest and replace all your outlets. They have a "cover" built in.
We have some of the covers you can screw into the faceplate so they're really secure. We got them because DS was pulling out the cords. They're pretty easy to install, but more expensive than the simple plugs.

This isn't a great help, but my kid was doing the same thing, until we put painter's tape over the covers. It's not attractive and it did catch his attention for a little bit, but he became uninterested when he couldn't get the tape off.

Thanks! I'll have DH check those out when he goes to Home depot this weekend!

It is great, I didn't think about that. I'm going to try this first, I hate the idea of having to buy all new stuff.
I think we only have green painters tape right now...

We have these too and they're a super pain to get off. She hasn't even tried, but I don't think she could get them off if she tried.

You have to stick the plug in, then twist it, then plug it in more. It's pretty much impossible for a baby to stick anything in there and hurt themselves with that operation. You just install it like a normal switch plate, I believe.
I've never even seen these. Maybe stores in Florida don't care about babies? They just offer us cheap covers and painters tape.

We have similar ones. I think the brand is Safety First and they are on diapers.com . DH stuck something in a socket as a kid and says he will never forget that jolt.
I don't really have anything to add to this, but I wanted to say hi! I work really weird hours in retail, and I didn't get a chance to say hi in your intro thread. So, welcome and your daughter is beautiful!
