Why do kids always get sick on long weekends?

My pedi is closed today, even though it isn't a holiday (Monday is) because she is taking a 4 day weekend.  I called the pedi clinic that does same day appt and they are  full.  They gave me an appt for tomorrow morning and I am on the waiting list for today. 

Anna has a fever and a very sore throat, and there was a case of strep at daycare, so I am worried about that and would like to know asap because of the contagion factor.  She has a birthday party tomorrow afternoon and we have a dinner with friends tomorrow night.  I guess I'll just cross my fingers that they call me later today.
