I have come here to bitch about my family

This is why no one in my family has a close relationship just to preface things.

The oldest of my 2 younger brothers is a pilot for a well known airline. He lives with his family in Indiana, I'm in Massachusetts, as is my other brother, sister and parents. We only see my pilot brother a few times a year. This morning my mother posted on FB that my brother had apparently had a layover in Boston last night and called her, then my sister, then my dad and they all had had a great time out at a restaurant cracking jokes and eating food. I did not receive one phone call or text from anybody. WTF.

They won't change, but I can't help but be irritated any time this happens.

I'm sorry. My family is the same way. I only live an hour away from my mom and both brothers and can count on one hand how many times they have been to visit me and DH at our house. They see eachother all the time, make plans to have dinner together and we never get a call or an invitation. If we want to see them, we have to drive to their house.
