I am starting a 3 day juice cleanse today and I am terrified. I cant even get myself to drink the first drink. Any one had any experience on these cleanses?
You won't find love for cleanses around here. While a cleanse won't kill you (most likely), it won't help you either. Instead, eat a diet full of lean protein, whole grains, tons of vegetables and fruit, healthy fats, and exercise. That's how you get a more healthy body.
Same question as PP - what are you hoping to get out of this?
The other PP are correct, you'll find very little love for juice cleansing on this board, but I tend to disagree. I have great things to say about BluePrint Cleanse, which is the company I've done four juice cleanses with in the last two years. However, I have to point out that juice cleansing in general isn't a good fit for weight loss. For me, juice cleansing is a really good way for me to press reset on my food intake and eating habits. If I find that I'm not taking care of myself the way I want to be or need a shakeup, prepping for, completing, and effectively coming off of a juice cleanse will make me more aware of my choices than anything else does.
But that being said, you need to do this for the right reasons, and if you're scared, it's probably because you're not adequately prepared. To truly prep for a juice cleanse, you should be eliminating meats, dairy, etc. for 3-4 days beforehand while getting lots of fruits and veggies, etc. Taking the time to prep is very important. If you haven't prepped, that could be a big problem.
For me, a 3 day cleanse gets me in touch with the feelings I have about food, but while still working hard to ensure I'm receiving adequate calories and nourishment. Maybe change your mindset and it will be easier?
I made it through 2 juices now. I think I was nervous bc Im not a big juice drinker generally and I think I didnt phase off food as well as I should have.
Im doing it to just "reset" my body as Ive been eating and drinking a ton. Im trying to get more into eating fruits and vegetables too so I figured this was a way to sort of dive into it. Im not looking to lose weight.
I currently exercise 5-6 times a week as is and Im in pretty good shape.
If you want to eat more fruits and veggies, why not just do THAT? What exactly do you consume on this "cleanse" program? I can't imagine having enough energy to fuel my workouts if I wasn't eating anything.
