That makes absolutely no sense to me. How can you hear your blood flowing? I'd love to sit in there.
When you hold a shell up to your ear, you're not hearing the ocean. You're hearing your blood flow. I'd imagine it's the same thing. To a larger scale.
ETA: or put your fingers in your ear. That...sound...is blood & heartbeat.

If all other sound is silenced I would imagine it's entirely possible to hear the beat of your own heart. I'll have to ask my audio engineer husband how that works.

Eesh. I was in a soundproof room in a recording studio and could not bring myself to close the door. The silence is overbearing. So, nope. No way could I go in here. Ever.
My husband was IN THAT ROOM. Yesterday. I kid you the fuck not.
What did he think of it? That's crazy!
I feel like Barney right now because when I read the part about no one lasting more than 45 minutes I want to say " Challenge accepted!" I am good with uncomfortable;)

that room and a soundproof room are very different. i have a soundproof booth/room in my office and no one goes crazy in it

He said one minute was more than enough but that it was really cool. His current project is building a super quiet fan so they were testing it in the room.
