Why does Florida lists it's boy/girl name and then says....it figures? And because I live in Idaho, the girls name is Olivia .......I don't know any Olivia's here, none, not even a friend of friend kinda thing. But overall, I kinda like this :Y:
Interesting! I'm scared to have another boy because we had Liam as the name for forever and now it is ruined
I don't live in Florida, but sadly Isabella is ruined for me. I've loved that name since visiting the Isabelle Stewart Gardner museum in Boston as a child. Plus I thought it was cool that anyone named Isabella gets free admission to the museum.
I wonder why there is such a variety for the boys' names and not for the girls'?
Here's another fun site: the SSA has where you can search most popular baby names by state and year, so you can see if your parents were trendy in naming you or not. www.ssa.gov/oact/babynames/state/

Ahhh katfco thank you for reminding me about the state lists!
Violet is 88 in NY but only 197 babies were named Violet... that doesn't sound so bad! I find it funny that my current boy frontrunner "Leo" is also number 88! At least I'm consistent?
I am shocked Henry is 45! I thought it would be top 10!

I have a membership to the isg museum and only went once for a party. I really should go again before it expires.

The first time I went was with my parents literally weeks before the theft. My dad and I were looking at the Rembrandts (to keep me occupied so my mom could enjoy the rest of the museum) and he was explaining to me how Rembrandt was historically groundbreaking in his depiction of light. That was the first art appreciation lesson that stuck and I took it as a personal affront when I heard that those paintings that we had studied were stolen.

Reasons to move to Illinois- Violet is not even ranked in the top 100! And neither is Ruby. And Leo is 95. Score! I'm atleast slightly ahead of the trend in Chicago lol
It appears Violet ranks the highest in California
I'm sure no one cares about this except possibly ruby412

I care! I care!
Violet is 93 in PA. I can work with that.
Nice! And I'm an idiot it is ranked in illinois- at 75 which is higher than the national list! LAME.
thedahliharpa Harper is 94 in California! Not too shabby.
Thanks for the heads up :-) Better than 24! I don't think she will share her name in her class until high school. I wonder what states are pushing the averages up. I will be nerding out on this tonight.

#2 in South Dakota and top 5 in Nebraska, Iowa, North Dakota, and Montana. I guess the surname trend hit those places late. Followers...I'm being a state snob right now and thinking snobby thoughts.

Anddddd now I must look at all 50 states for Violet. So far mass and Cali are the highest.
Pennsylvania has a pretty damn high rate of naming their babies after the babies of the Teen Mom Franchise. Yuck Nevaeh is on the damn list too. Why people, why?
