I'm contemplating doing a cleanse. I would do the Blueprint one bc it's certified kosher.
Tell me about it. How did you feel? Were you hungry? Did you feel weak ever? How do they taste? How did you convince your H it was worth the cost? (Mine seems pretty skeptical though not entirely opposed)

Yay! Do it!
Well, your first step is to march on over to Whole Foods and buy the green juice. If you hate it then this cleanse might not be for you. I happen to LOVE IT but I will admit that on my first day of cleansing ever I thought all of the juices were pretty gross. Now I actually love them and crave them. But I also make green juice with my juicer pretty often so I like it in general.
This time around I did not do well with easing into the cleanse so on the first day I felt pretty shitty... well, not that shitty, but more tired and hungry. By day 2 I was totally fine. I have no idea how they do it but I am so much less hungry on the cleanse then when I'm doing a regular diet like WW. If you are not an idiot like me who drank margaritas and ate meat the day before your cleanse the first day won't be as bad.
I would say the only times I felt weak would be when I let too much time pass between the juices. This didn't happen this time around but when I used to work long shifts on my feet all day I would be super busy and never have time to get/drink the juice and I'd feel kind of crazy after a few hours. You should be fine. In general I feel I have MORE energy when on the cleanse. It might be because digesting heavy stuff takes a lot of energy in your body so you're freeing all of that up.
My H thinks it's totally insane how much money it costs. I used to do it all the time when I was working, but that was "my" money so he never gave me a hard time. He agreed to it this time as my breastfeeding gift since I achieved my goal (well, almost, I came within a few days). He also likes that since I don't have to eat during that week he eats such crap- like the anti cleanse. He gets like a quart of pork fried rice and goes to town.
I want more deets too, Trudy! Are you doing it again for 3 more days? How did you end up doing with it?
Also rjamz, if you want to try one before you invest, they carry them at Whole Foods for $10 - $12 each. (At least that was the price at my WF.)
I did it for 3 more days this mon-wed. It was great! I was legitimately sad when I drank my last juice . And now I've been eating super low carb and I've felt fine.
And yea, the prices are nutty at WF. Rjamz they are slightly cheaper at union market but I don't think you have one of those up there.
No judgment from me! I think things like the Master Cleanse where all you have is lemonade and cayenne pepper are iffy, but this one has legitimate calories, so I don't see the issue.
I told H that if I do it, he can eat whatever crap he wants - even meat during the week (gasp!) I'm gonna go to WF on Sunday and get a green one and we'll see from there!
I'll wait to start until after our picnic on Tuesday, though.

Yea, master cleanse is way different. This is actual food and the cashew juice is like 19 grams of fat I think (and sooo good!).
It's def hard to plan it around events. If you do it, I like to get a few juices from WF so on the days leading up to it I have a juice or two. It helps you adjust.

Oh and also I still drink coffee on it! They say it's semi okay to do it, haha. I've done it without before but now with a baby I just cannot. I drink a small cup of black coffee in the morning.
I just don't get cleanses. Why do you need to do a cleanse? Can't you just go right into eating low carb or whatever? I don't think I could survive on only juice. I would be a heinous bitch. H and I would probably get divorced. lol
rjamz, I also wanted to say that I really admire you for keeping Kosher. It seems like it would be tough with the different sinks and different stoves (I don't know if you have two stoves, but I know you mentioned a divided sink). I don't know, I find it really admirable.
Thanks! Only one stove, but 2 sinks, dishwashers, sets of dishes and silverware/cutlery, pots and pans.
I want to do because I've heard it helps you reset your eating. I don't know if I could dive right into healthy eating - I like the idea of a regimen.
I'm chiming in - DH and I are actually doing this cleanse next week! DH is weirdly juicing obsessed (he has a giant juicer that he goes nuts with) has wanted to do one for a while, and I finally agreed a month or so ago. We agreed on next week because it was after my breast cancer walk but far enough in advance of my 10k that it won't mess with my training.
I'm scared! Especially for the 1st day - I have an intense class at the gym that morning and have to take both kids to a fair that afternoon. I feel like I might pass out eith no food! I need to eat reallly clean the day or two before to prep myself......and it says best results include not having coffee!?!? Whaaaaat??? I want to cry thinking of that

Good luck! I just posted above that I still do a small cup of black coffee in the morning- I die without it. You might want to skip your gym class that first day though.

Even if it's in the morning? It's my favorite class (and I pre pay for it). Boo....
I'm going to try for no coffee, but if I turn into a raging homicidal bitch I will give in.

Good luck! I want to hear all of the details afterwards!
