I have numerous library cards, mostly to borrow e-books though. The last time I set foot into a library (to look for a book) was probably 4-5 years ago. I had a 10th grade English teacher tell us to not marry someone who doesn't have a library card.

No, not that shocking that you don't have a library card.
I'm also pretty sure that my kids come down with a stomach bug every single time we go to the library, even though I use sanitizer on their hands the second we leave. I'm all "ooh, I'm going to be a good mom and take my kids to the library," then 24-48 hrs later BOOM. sick. I'm kind of over it.
I have a library card because my mom signed me up when I was like 5, I still have that same card. I doubt they would ever accept it now lol. I've been to library since, but the thought of a library book kinda grosses me out for some reason.

This is an excellent reason NEVER TO GO TO THE LIBRARY.
Eh not surprising in this day and age. I do have a library card, but we haven't been in ages because I owe them money. Also they are closed for renovations until June so there is that.
I love the library and see no point in buying books so I have a library card. Even with my love for the library, I only get books by reserving them first so that I only have to go and pick them up. I'm not shocked at all that most people don't want to go through the hassle of going to the library. Most of the my friends don't have library cards and even DH refuses to get one. He just makes me check out the books he wants.

Oh, wait. I did go during college, but that was strictly for research. But even then, I didn't have a public library card, just my school id.
My recent trip was motivated by 1) being too poor to buy the rest of the books in a series I was reading, and 2) not wanting to buy a fuck ton of vegetarian/vegan cookbooks.

I only have a library card because I have a Kindle. Also, because I read somewhere between 5-10 books a week and am waaaaay too cheap to be buying that shit, especially if they're bubble gum books that I won't read more than once.

I don't have a library card. I got one a few years ago but let it expire since I never used it. I don't mind purchasing Nook books, and I can also borrow books from the library where I work.
I have one, but we have a branch 5 minutes from our house, and I love reading but hate buying books. I don't find it shocking to think that someone wouldn't have one though.

My mil is a library aide. She got me my library card and renews my books for me all the time. I also have libraries at both of my schools, but in four years ive never been inside the one at the community college.
I guess my initial reaction is SAY WHAT?! but a lot of people I know never go to the library. Now I mostly download ebooks and audiobooks, but I still physically go in sometimes. I really never buy books, so the library is where I get all my reading material. I just hate having to return stuff, so I try to get the digital files.
