Anyone have experience? They said it is contagious for 24 hrs after she starts antibiotics, she took her first dose at 10pm. How contagious! Do you think we can get away with not catching it?
She is sleeping in my bed tonight, in case Sophia could get it from sharing a room. But it may be too late for Sophia, right? AAARGH. I think my throat hurts.
And I just had half a bottle of wine in the last hour. I feel so much better, lollollol

I've never caught strep from my kids. I don't think they've ever caught it from one another...I can't remember an instance where both of them had it.
Definitely a new toothbrush. Our ped recommends waiting 2-3 days on meds before you do it, just to make sure you aren't getting fresh germs on the new one and risking reinfection.
Honestly, if my kids are going to get something I almost hope it's strep. Easy to take care of, not overly contagious, and one dose of antibiotics has them feeling/acting like a new kid. They don't recover from anything else nearly as fast! Good luck!
I hope she feels better soon. I had strep throat 10000000 times as a child, and my parents never once caught it from me. My sister did a couple of times, but not every time. Maybe it's just me, but I can function as a normal person when I have it, I just have a sore throat and a headache. It would not stop me from enjoying weekend activities though, so here's hoping that if you do catch it, it's a mild case!
