Thad loves the book "moo, baa, lalala" and he has the damn thing memorized. It starts "a cow says MOO, a sheep says BAA and three singing pigs say LA LA LA! No no, you say, that isn't right, the pigs say OINk all day and night"
He does all the animal sounds at the right time. And he doesn't have to see the book to do the noises. We say the book in the car when I drive.
I know it is rote memorization but it is so incredibly cool!!!
What cool thing is your kid doing?
An a picture. Because I'm feeling like a total AW.
Jake definitely knows the difference between yes and no, so we've been using it for nap time and bed time. Around nap time we will ask him if he wants to take a nap. Usually he says no the first time. We will ask again 10 minutes later. He will say us. When we are in his room we will read him a story and then he will point to and lunge for his crib!

That's adorable! And he looks so cute!
We borrowed a subway book from the library and on the last page you day bye bye bye to the subway and as soon as we get to the last page, she always waves.
Caleb has started letting me know when he's tired by saying "Ni-ni" for "night night." In the evening, he's moving his bedtime later so we wait for him to be tired and last night at about 7:30 he came up to me and started pulling on my leg saying "ni-ni; ni-ni" I love that he's learning when he's tired.

When I say "Do you have poo poo? Oh no!" D buries her face into her hands and giggles. She started saying "Barpar" the other week and loves pointing to pictures of H and shouting "Barpar!" all day long. ETA reduced from 3 aws to 2
I need to get on this Boyton book train- I don't think we have any and they sound freaking adorable. DD knows what sounds an owl, lion, and doggie make. Her new power word is "up". And whenever we give her something, she says "te ta" for "thank you"- which, as a manner freak, makes me prouder than anything. I wasn't sure if I was just being crazy or not, but my mother and H noticed it too and agree that the timing is always right and she says it in the singsongy way I do.
LO says "duh" for down, up, and done. LOL. She goes "woo woo" for dog, "teet teet" for birds, "wah wah" for ducks, "ooo" for cow, "oo oo" for monkey. Dog, cow, and monkey kind of sound the same. We say Bye Bye enough I thought she'd say that, but she just waves or blows kisses. She just started pointing to the crib when we rock her for nap/bed; kind of crazy (great!) that they know they want to nap!
Awwww, that is so cool!!! I am amazed at the language, too. A couple weeks ago Cam wasn't saying anything, and then ALL of a sudden his vocabulary has spiked. He knows what a monkey says (says Oo Oo Ah! and touches his chest), a snake says (Ssss) and a cat (Ee-Ah/Ow). And can say duck and milk. I am just floored. Its like he's a little person now!!!
