Insurance probably wouldn't cover it, but you could look up respite care providers in your area. They might be able to point you in the right direction.
Yep, as PP mentioned I would look into respite care. I had looked into it for my father but it seemed that he had to go somewhere out of the home which was simply too much of a challenge for him. However I am sure there is something available in home but I don't know that it would be covered under insurance. I have found I have had to fight insurance for the littlest things such as coverage for an ambulance when my son was having a seizure. I hope you can find something and that insurance will help you out with it too.

Have you maybe tried calling your work's EAP? They often have some great ideas and resources handy......also maybe ask the nurse that's coming in once a week what else is available like that...she's probably plugged in and knows

You might want to try giving your county board of disabilities a call.
I don't know if they serve strictly medical disabilities as well as developmental (I would assume so?) and your DS might qualify for some support services. You could ask about that. At the very least, they are likely to be able to provide info on local folks who provide respite care -- because many kids with developmental disabilities also have medical issues, they're going to have a list of providers they could give you who would be medically qualified to take over while you get a break.
Home health nurse is what you want. ETA: I know you already have that but you'll need a nurse if you want them to do medical stuff. Respite car might provide a home health aide, but they could do basic dressing and bathing but no med administration, etc.
