A year and a halfish ago I got the Essure procedure (sterilization where they insert a thinger into each tube, and scar tissue builds up around it, blocking them from releasing eggs). Ever since, my period has gotten progressively worse. My cycle has increased, PMS has gotten more and more intense. My blood has gotten MUCH clottier. The past 3 cycles, I've had to spend the second day in bed from the pain (it seems to be associated when I pass large clots). I can't function the second day. I've nearly had to go to the ER a few times for the clotting/going through super plus tampons in less than an hour. Do you think I need to go to my OBGYN? This is obviously a stupid question, because I know what you're all going to tell me. Would YOU bother with going to the OBGYN over this (now I've got you). The Googles have shown me that this is pretty common after this procedure (curiously, I didn't find ANY of this shit when I was researching it before I got it), so the lazy part of me says that this is just the new normal and nothing dangerous.

I guess it depends on if the research said it gets better after a few months. Then I wouldn't go in. But if it says it's a sign of something bad, then yes. When I looked into it, there was something about some people being allergic to nickel, which is what the little things are made of, right? Could that be it?

Yes I would go in. Yes it may be the new normal but if its not its better to deal with it ASAP. A morning/afternoon at the Doc is worth it for my peace of mind.

I would because basically being incapacitated once a month is not something I would take a chance with. I'd at least want to talk with a Dr. who had my chart and medical expertise at her/his disposal; not just Internet drs/reports.
I think if you got this procedure a year and a halfish ago and things are getting progressively worse, then YES. Go to the doctor. I get a few months of symptoms, but a year and a half of that sounds awful.

yes I would. I would think the symptoms would have decreased or just kept consistent. The fact that you are passing large clots that keep you bed ridden is concerning.
I'd go. But I'd be a lazy ass about making the appointment because once it's over I'd be all "that wasn't so bad" until it comes around the next month. Because that's how I am.
But I'd still make an appointment, it's better to get it checked out than to let it go on.

I don't have any rashes down there (maybe I shaved to make sure. maybe I panic sometimes.), which I guess is the telltale sign of a nickle allergy.
I think nickel is a contact allergy. You would get the rash where the exposure was. And unless your anatomy is very different from most women's, that wouldn't exactly turn up anywhere you could see it. Even if you shaved super well.

No, the things I have read say you will develop a rash on your skin above where the pieces are set. So pubic-bone area. Which is weird. And now I can't find anywhere that says that.
