Actually, just one, really. im new-ish to paleo and i feel like i eat so.much.meat. For every meal. I have been getting recipes mostly from blogs and while i love the stuff ive made, i feel like i need a break from all the meat, but i am lacking in creativity in the kitchen. what are your favorite non meaty recipes/blogs?
also, i miss pasta, yo. a lot more than i thought i would!
But.... Eating a lot of pasta is what got me overweight in the first place. Lol. I'm kind of trying to avoid that. And everything I've read about paleo says no to pasta, so that wouldnt really fit into my eating plan.

are you eating paleo just to lose weight? because while weight loss, and sometimes a lot of weight loss, is a side effect of paleo, a lot of people eat paleo for reasons in addition to weight loss. some of the reasons are because you might have an intolerance to dairy or gluten (or want to figure out if you have these intolerances through a paleo diet). I think paleo is a difficult diet if you are only looking to lose weight. If you only want to lose weight I would look at going low-carb instead of full-on paleo. you could still have some grainy carbs like pasta but in small amounts and that would give you more variety that paleo offers.
i have been strict strict paleo and i have been on/off paleo for over a year and it is definitely difficult but i never feel better than when I am eating paleo. i would re-evaluate your choice to go paleo if it's simply because you need to cut down on pasta - you could try low carb or counting calories for smaller portions of pasta instead of cutting it out completely.

You could eat eggs instead. Fish too.
Ditto others who have commented that paleo is very restrictive. Some people need that, but I don't think there's any real reason to avoid legumes, lentils, grains, and dairy, short of allergies. All of those things are really healthy for you and can help provide variety. So skip pasta if you need to for now, but why cut out yogurt, lentils, beans, etc?
The main reason I'm trying paleo is to just be healthier overall, I'm doing other things to lose weight, like working out, but I hit a major plateau and want to see if this will help get me over that hump a little easier. I do plan to add this back in as I go (some dairy, oats, whole grains) and see if/how they impact the way that I feel, etc. Thanks for the blog rec, I'll check it out! And I'll try spaghetti squash with marinara, that sounds amazing! Thanks guys
Now is a great time of year to try out different fruits and veggies. Check out farmers markets, produce stands or international grocery stores and try some new ingredients or different varieties of things you eat a lot of (there are tons of varities of mushrooms and sweet Potators, for example). I know Paleo isn't huge on fruit but it's definitely the lesser evil if incorporating some back in your diet will keep you out of the pasta or from falling off the wagon completely.
'Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather, to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, screaming 'Woohoo! What a ride!' So every day is a holiday and every meal a feast."

I ditch the pablano pepper step because A. they're really hard to find here, and B. I just don't have that much extra time. I also skip the bacon.
I tried paleo - I did about 80/20 to 90/10 on/off. I found that restricting my diet (carbs especially) made me really, really moody and unpleasant to be around. I'm currently still eating relatively low carb, but I've added back in dairy, nuts etc.
I think the biggest benefit of it, was that it gave me the platform to be able to easily make better food choices. It gave me a reason to try new fruits and veggies, try almond flour, coconut milk, try organic vs. regular etc and so for that, it was great.
You can omit the chicken or switch it to shrimp if you want to change it up. Even my husband loves it.
I also make a tomato meat sauce (ground sausage and turkey mixture)and serve it over spaghetti squash but you could easily omit the meat there and it'd still be tasty.

To cook a spaghetti squash I just halve it w/ a knife, scoop out and discard the seeds, coat the open/cut sides with some EVOO, sometimes salt and pepper, place the halves open/cut side down in a glass dish, cover w/ saran wrap and pierce a hole in it to vent, and microwave for about 9 minutes. If you can stick a fork through the skin easily, it's done!

I didn't know that you could microwave them! That's so much better than heating up the oven in the summer.
How much meat are you eating? I think a common misconception about paleo is that it's all meat, all the time. But I think the goal should be to eat a moderate amount of meat and replace grains, legumes, and dairy with vegetables and fruit, not more meat.
