i feel like peach and i are living the same life here.
i have a friend that just opened a store and she sells furniture and decor, homemade or reloved sort of stuff. i had a chalkboard and serving tray and a few other knick knack type things i'd done that i didn't want anymore so i offered them to her on consignment. The chalkboard sold yesterday and she has requests for more! i've been hoping to get into something like this as a side business, but i don't have desire to do the retail side so this is fantastic.
Hooray! You should post pics of your stuff! I need to do that to see what you guys think. Any ideas for your name?? I'm going to go with Silver Sparrow - my tags are black with a silver sparrow stamp= turning out pretty cute!
Do you know how you are going to handle tax stuff?? I have no idea how that works yet....I am confused. The shop I am in has to charge PST - because the lady who runs it makes over $30k a year. I won't make over 30 k though, so I shouldn't have to charge pst on my items. But everything in the store is charged pst. SO confusing to me....I am learning how this all works on wednesday, hopefully it makes more sense after I talk to her.

no idea. i'll talk to her about it this week and try to figure out the system.
if it gets too complicated i'll probably quit. since i'm american i have to file taxes in the US as well. it's fairly straight forward now, and i have no desire to complicate it. the extra time and paperwork isn't worth the few bucks i'll make.
i'm curious how it works though. we're doing this on consignment and i've consigned clothes with another store and there was never mention or paperwork indicating i was responsible for taxes there. would this be different?
