We need to build a fence for the garden to keep out the deer and bunnies. I saw this photo on Pinterest and thought it looked amazing so I showed it to DH even though it looked totally complicated and more than I thought we would want to take on for our fence.
Check it out! DH was able to recreate this without too much trouble. (Here is the first panel of the fence that DH built today.) There is no way I would have been able to recreate the fence from the photo. Too much math involved. DH is a wizard!
Now we only have about 9 more panels to make along with the gate. I am so stinking excited.
That is cool looking! I am not sure but it looks like in the Pinterest photo that they have chicken wire or something similar at the bottom, will you doing something like that to keep rabbits out?
Maybe I am being a bit thick because I can see how that will keep out deer, but it isn't looking very bunny proof.
Not thick. You can't see it in the Pinterest photo because I made it smaller but the bottom 3 feet of the fence has chicken wire attached to the inside of the fence and the upper diamonds have single wire stung across the openings.
We wanted something very open since the fence will be on the south side of the garden and anything too substantial would block the sun.

Yup, chicken wire is going up once it is installed in the ground.

Chicken Wire ... My H will hate that you answered that. Thank You ;-)
Also - a rabbit/chicken wire story. My H and I dug allllllll the way around our entire fenced in yard, used crampons to secure chicken wire, nailed it into the fence, and covered the edges with wood. Then we backfilled, etc. HUGE effing job. We finished, and stood on our deck to check out our handywork. Looked into the grass, and there is a mf'in bunny. I went and opened the gate and my H goes to chase it out, but it won't move. So, I go to do it right, lol. Won't move. Yeah, that is because there were bunnies literally emerging from the mama bunny's vagina, right then. She had a whole damn litter and they ate every single baby plant in our yard that spring, because I didn't have the heart to sentence them to certain death and remove them. Fin.
