My Rachel Pally maxi dress arrived today from Revolve! I think it will work! It might be just a hair on the small side of a perfect fit. It'll be good motivation for me to keep up with my weight watchers and work out routine. Motivation is a good thing, I've been looking for it.
Have you looked into having it hemmed yet? Mine is definitely too long as well and I was curious. I'm hoping to have it taken up this week so I can wear it SOON!!
Butting in: Every Rachel Pally I own has a raw hem. Many people just cut their own hem to adjust. (I don't need to alter mine as I'm tall, so I don't have any experience with this personally.)
Oh you're right, it is a raw hem. I'm sure you're right, I'm just a chicken. I'm afraid I wouldn't get it even or my cuts would end up short and choppy. If that's the case though, I'm hoping it'll be relatively cheap to have it done. Fingers crossed!

Exactly. I'm still taking it to the tailor and hopefully it will be cheap and quick!! I'm going to bring it to the tailor when I receive my other maxi dress this week, I am sure that will need to be tailored, too.
Yeah I noticed the raw hem and for a split second I considered doing it myself but I don't trust me with scissors and a beautiful dress. I'll end up with it uneven or the cuts being choppy. You're right though, hopefully it'll be cheap to have it done since it's crazy simple!
So... because I can't stop thinking about it. The dress 'fits' it's not big on me and doesn't really hang like it does on the model online. Hers seems to hang a bit on the body and has a little more hanging fabric than mine from the waist. It definitely fits and probably defines more of a shape than the models. Do you think this is the wrong fit for this dress?
You're probably going to ask for a pic huh? This is terrible attempting to explain it

Do either of you know anyone that's a serious quilter? If they have the largest size cutting mat, quilter's ruler, and rotary cutter, it would be a very quick job. The only thing that would need to be done is to reinforce seams that would be left loose at the bottom. I have an Aunt that does a lot of it and I know she'd have the tools. It would just be a matter of knowing where to mark it to be cut. Using thos tools would make it very easy to get an even cut.
