I'd do #2. I bet you'll only use the stroller with car seat for a little while. Also, snap and gos are good things to find on Craigslist or at a consignment sale.
I'd do #2. We have a Graco and used the snap-and-go until very recently. I actually really liked the ease and the lightweight-ness of the SNG when she was teeny.
Yeah, the seat itself is only 11 pounds. That's still a fair percentage heavier than other seats (our Maxi-Cosi Mico was 8, and I think the Keyfit is 9-9.5), but not horrid. A mom in my moms' group had the PP and mostly liked it. She said she wished it were lighter and less bulky, but that it was a good seat.
What stroller do you have? I didn't like the snap and go at all. We're tall, the snap and go is not. I loved the infant adapter with the City Mini. We used it that way almost until DD was out of her infant seat - so 7 or 8 mos. I liked minimizing the stuff we had around the house (especially if you're going to hold onto it for hypothetical baby #2) - the car seat adapter is a lot smaller than the snap and go. Also, how much is an extra base for the PP car seat? Having 2 bases was critical for us.
Interesting. The weight on Amazon probably included the base.
It still seems half the reviews mention it being really heavy.
Probably, but this makes it only 2 lbs heavier than the Graco. I had the maxi cosi mico and despite it being the lightest out there, I stopped carrying it around really quickly because it was a PITA. I would have left it in the car all the time except I needed to leave it at DC in case DH needed to do pickup (and you're going to be a SAHM, right?)
Have you looked at Albee Baby? they have some colors for $170-180.
As someone that bought a second very rarely used base, I wouldn't buy a second base again.
I was happy with the snap-n-go, but it was primarily used indoors and between the car and an indoor location (church, stores, malls, etc.), or paved paths. If I wanted to go for a walk, I was happier with my carriers anyway. I did also have a stroller that goes flat, so he could ride in that fairly early. I never wanted a full stroller that could accommodate the car seat.

This may be irrelevant b/c my PP stroller is old, but we had the Primo Viaggio for DS because it matched our P3. It really was a heavy seat, especially since DS was a big baby. For DD, I got a cheap Snugride, and it fit fine even without the adapter.
I got a snap and go as a gift. We only used it for a couple of months, but I loved it! It was a real lifesaver when he went through a phase of not liking carriers.
I would get the Graco adapter for the other stroller if possible. I absolutely hated the snap and go. I got it at a garage sale and sold it within a month of having DD.

Yes, I have the Pliko P3, which I used with a Snugride (not sure which model). It didn't lock into place, but the dimensions lined up enough that it felt secure. The "universal carseat adapter" or whatever it's called (which I probably still have in a drawer somewhere, in fact) is just a strap, so I never bothered to figure it out.
It may not be that convenient, but could you drag the stroller to the store and see what fits?
I'd save a few bucks, and get the Graco Classic Connect. $69 on Amazon, and it's the same as the Snugride - except the weight limit is 22lbs. If you have an average weight kid, that would get you to 11 months. We only used the carrier until 6 or 7 months, before switching to the convertible.
Then, I'd get a used Snap-n-go or Universal Snap-n-Go. You can get a used one in very decent shape for $20 or so on CL or at a consignment sale. I saw some at a thrift shop (also in good condition) for like $5-8.
Maybe my answer would be different if you are planning of getting a lot of gifts at a shower or something.
Oh - and, we found the Kolcraft Universal Snap & Go thing to be totally fine for pushing around town. We weren't going on a lot of grass or weird surfaces (other than some cobblestone here & there)... but, for pushing on sidewalks, at the mall, shopping, etc., it was definitely fine.
I'd go with #2, some people will use the infant seats for a long time. I found ours to be a pain with DD around 6 months, it was way to heavy to carry around with her in it. She was getting to heavy to lug around so we then got her a convertible car seat that she still uses.
I think you may still want a snap-n-go even with the PP stroller. Can the PP seat snap into a regular snap-and-go (some are more generic than others and work with a variety of car seats).
We had the bob with the infant adaptor and the snap and go, and we lived downtown in a TH when DS was born. We kept the bob set up in the house and used that for walks around the neighborhood, etc and kept the snap and go in the car. once in a great while I'd use the snap and go around the city if I was going into small stores, etc, bc the bob was so big comparatively.
but I dont know how big the PP stroller is? We didnt want to deal with having to fold up the bob and put it in the car every time we went somewhere(even though we infinitely preferred the pushing and steering of the bob).
I guess I'm not very helpful LOL. basically I'd consider the PP stroller over the car seat - like, is the stroller easy to use, are you going to want to push it with a car seat snapped in, etc. If you think you want something lighter and easier to carry and all that good stuff, then going with a snap and go and the snugride may be a better bet.
