What do you do to take care of your nails so they don't get destroyed? What products and techniques do you use? I've been painting my nails more often but don't want to ruin them. ETA: often = more than once a week.
The only special things I've been doing is to give it at least a few hours between polish changes and put some solar oil on it after I remove my old polish, washing it off before I do my manicure. Also, I use the ELF concealer brush and 100% acetone (I don't use that to remove my polish though) to clean up my nails and then I put some solar oil on it after I've done my top coat and the polish has dried a bit. That way my cuticles don't dry out from the acetone.
Any other products or techniques would be appreciated.
I lotion my nails daily and use Burts Bees Lemon Butter Cream in my cuticles several times a day. I also try to give my nails a couple days' break between polishes every once in a while, but don't do this often since I'll bite my nails if they're not painted.
My nails grow fast so this doesn't seem to be an issue. I almost always have polish on and usually change 2x week. I do use Burts Bees lemon cuticle cream - my cuticles seem to get the most damage and that helps a lot.
I change polish colors once a week. I used acetone polish remover with a cotton ball, then trim/file/buff nails. Apply Burts Bees cutile cream and rinse off. I use an OPI base, polish and seche vita top.
I don't do anything special and I change my polish everyday. I do the Burt's Bees lemon cuticle butter and take a few polish free days a week. Oh and a prenatal vitamin
