I've been experiencing heartburn for the past few weeks. I've never had it before and was at a loss for what is causing it. I finally put two and two together and realized it started right around the time I started yoga. I Googled and found that it can in fact cause heartburn. Ugh. I'm at a loss for what to do. I'm tracking my eating on myfitnesspal and nothing I'm eating on a regular basis is on the list of things to avoid other than coffee. I've cut out all carbonated beverages (even sparkling water). I've been trying to do yoga on an empty stomach (between lunch and dinner). Any other suggestions for what I can do? I might take a week off from practicing yoga to see if it makes a difference but I don't want to give it up altogether.

I try to do 5 times a week. Most days just 20 minutes but I did an hour and a half on Sunday. I had done it for 4 days in a row but had to take off yesterday because the heartburn is out of control. Oh, and I'm also going to give up red wine for a bit because that can also be a cause (although its never been a problem in the past).

Can you narrow it down to certain poses? I get weird heartburn/reflux when I do prone cobras (not necessarily the yoga kind, but the kind you do for strength and hold for a long time with your arms behind you). I can't figure out why, but it only happens with that pose.
DH gets bad heartburn from things that have a lot of butter in them.
