I have been trying to work up the nerve to swim for a while now. I finally bit the bullet and packed everything that I am going to need, planning to swim after work and it has been thundering ALL afternoon. It's not raining at all. Just thundering. It's making me crazy and all I can think about is whether the pool is going to be open.
I should have gotten up early and swam before work. (huh)

I assume it's an outdoor pool... can you call them and ask if they're open before you head over there? My old outdoor pool would close if there was thunder/lightning.

I hope it's open for you. I've just gotten used to bringing an extra set of workout clothes in case the pool's closed when I'm planning on swimming. My closes for so many random reasons that are hard to schedule around.

I was planning to run too, so I do have my running clothes. This is a good learning experience though.

I did it! It stopped thundering and the pool was open. It was harder than I expected (I haven't swum laps in 20 years). I tried to run after, but I was beat. My arms are so sore already.
