I need ideas for a quick snack before running in the morning. I'm out the door at 5:45ish and then come back for breakfast before heading out to work. As my runs get longer, I'll be leaving earlier. I feel really sluggish and figured out it's because I need food before running. I can't do nuts/peanut butter before a run because it gives me heartburn. Any other ideas?

I must be tired. I thought this said "quitting smack before running" In which case, the answer is YES. First quit, then train.
I like a banana before I run out the door in the morning, if I eat anything too heavy, I feel gross and sluggish, so I stick to light and easy to digest foods.

Another vote for bananas. It's the only thing I can stomach immediately before exercise without regretting it during the exercise. Plus (bonus TMI!) if you do get a little urpy, they don't taste bad on the 2nd time around, either. Not that I'd know, or anything like that ...

If I don't have access to PB and some sort of bread product, I will eat a Luna bar - something like that might work? Basically I need something that is not going to swish around in my belly too much and gives me energy so I'm not starving when I get back.
