Hi ladies, I'm a regular on the April 2012 board...I hope you don't mind me jumping over with a question.
I just bought a pair of Brooks Adrenaline GTS 13 sneakers, and sadly, they're just not working out for me (time to go back to my 2170s). Anyways, I'd like to sell them. I've ran in these sneakers 3 times, and put 28 miles on them. How much would you ask? I originally paid $115 + tax. I appreciate any input. Thanks!
I spoke to the owner of the store, and he needs to look at them to assess any wear that they might have. They should be fine considering I only ran 28 miles in them, right? My fingers are crossed!
I had a pair of Asics that just didn't work for me. I had about the same mileage as you have on your pair, but it had been several months since I'd purchased them and they have been discontinued. It took awhile, but Asics wrote me back and, in exchange for shipping the shoes to them, they offered to replace them with a similarly priced pair. I LOVE the shoes they sent me and I was very happy with the outcome.
Go through the Brooks website, pretty sure they will take care of you. If not, if they're a size 12 I'll buy them for $75. :-) I say that price because it's about what I bought my discontinued ones for.
How long ago did you buy them? Brooks has a guarantee on their shoes (30 days, IIRC) so the store should really have no problem taking them back within that timeframe, receipt or no receipt. Do they have a computer/customer database that they can look you up in? Can you ask to speak to the sales associate who helped you and appeal to him/her directly? I really cannot believe they won't take them back, unless it's been months and months. Or if we're talking about a D!ck's-type place.
And if that fails, yeah, I'd definitely reach out to Brooks directly, I'm pretty sure they'll take care of you if you're unhappy.
Also, the 2170s are discontinued now (and overhauled/replaced by a model that seems materially different) so if you find them definitely snap them up.

GL!
I'm going to call again. I feel like the girl I talked to wasn't quite sure about what she was saying. Hopefully the situation can be resolved.
I know the 2170s are discontinued ?. However, I did find them on Amazon, so I ordered a pair last night. I'm excited to get them!
