No, it's not The glass is there for a reason. Do you have a Whole Foods around you that has a prebaked GF cake? Maybe a new tradition of ice cream only?
A no bake GF cookie and turn it in to ice cream sandwiches sounds delicious to me. You could probably even do cookies in your toaster oven. Is your microwave a convection oven too? That would work.
Are you friendly enough with a neighbor to bake a cake at their house? I would totally let someone do this.

Honestly, I'd do a dessert he can have (store bought GF cookies/ ice cream) with a candle in it. Nothing above and beyond special. I'm not a parent, so maybe I just don't understand.
If he complains about it, tell him it's hard to bake a cake with a busted in oven.

I vote no cake. You couldn't get a better lesson if you tried. If the cake was for someone else, I could see you going out of your way, but I'd treat this with a big shoulder shrug.
So, how is he today? Has he calmed down? Has he figured out just how deep the shit river is that he's in?
He's at school so I really haven't seen him much today. Last night it was all blaming. "It wasn't my fault. I couldn't help it. If Gaby didn't look at me that way I wouldn't have done it". We will see if he owns it today. That will make a big difference in how his whole punishment goes down.
Whoooooooo. Man, I would be seething mad. And I'd let him know it. AND I'd make sure he sees the consequences of breaking isht. (the oven?!? The eff....) No cake. Ice cream is fine, since the oven is broken. He has to learn there are consequences to being pissed off and breaking the house. ^o) He's old enough to know he cannot break things because he's mad AND he's old enough to learn there are consequences to breaking permanent fixtures. He doesn't get to blame his sister because he got angry.

Oof. So he hasn't owned dick.
Whelp. A summer of paying for the repairs to the oven and being your personal bitch will probably do him some good. So sorry this is happening to you guys!
