Okay, so now that we have distinguished who is a yucky, double-clothes-wearer and who is not, let's talk showers. If you work out multiple times a day, or work from home or have some other less-than-traditional life situation, how do you arrange your shower schedule?
I WFH but my workout schedule varies a lot. Ideally, I would wake up, work out, shower and get on with my day but if I am going to a class over lunch or in the evening, I'll just wear running clothes for the day and shower at night. This gets really complicated if I am planning to switch it up the next day or have something social that I actually need to get dressed up for - it's no big deal to hop in the shower and clean my bod or even wash/dry my hair but straightening/curling/primping...I really don't want to deal with that if I am just going to work out later.
So...how nasty are you? Do you ever go on with your day without showering after a workout? Do you ever go to bed without showering? Do you wash/dry your hair every time you shower?
'Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather, to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, screaming 'Woohoo! What a ride!' So every day is a holiday and every meal a feast."
I usually work out in the evenings. I wash my body and face after every work out, but not necessarily my hair every time (I have long thick hair that looks better on day 2). If I dont wash it, I use dry shampoo, and even then only if needed.
After a workout, I am drenched in sweat and smelly.
I shower in the am to get ready for work. Workout after work and then shower after I get home. I make dinner, eat, and relax after that. I use Wen cleansing conditioner in the am shower, I sometimes rinse my hair with just water in the pm if needed.
... So...how nasty are you? Do you ever go on with your day without showering after a workout? Do you ever go to bed without showering? Do you wash/dry your hair every time you shower?
By these measures, very nasty. My showering and hair washing depends heavily on how much I sweat during the workout and when I last showered. I have definitely gone to work and bed without showering after a bike ride on a cool day, for example. I actually only wash my hair every 4-5 days now because I have had some skin sensitivity issues that I've traced back to shampoo (believe me, I've tried every type you can imagine)...after the first ~2 months of oily hair my hair looks and feels better now than ever. If I sweat a lot during a workout and it's not a wash day, I just rinse or sometimes condition it in the shower.
I hate getting wet. especially my hair. I like to minimize my showers.
I shower before work.
I work at an office.
I work out after work.
I don't always shower after (particularly in winter). I always wash my face. sometimes I'll do a hobo shower with baby wipes too.
If I do shower after it's more of a rinse the stank off than a full shower. less than 5 min total shower time.
If I do rinse, I never wash my hair. sometimes I'll rinse + condition but never shampoo. most of the time I'm a once/week shampooer and that once is after my long run on Saturday. I'm a curly. the less I screw around with my hair the better.
this is a weekday routine and assumes I don't have plans outside the house post workout. on the weekends I workout in the AM and then take one shower after my workout.

I run at lunch at my office job (when it's not too hot) and can not shower after- hobo shower/ baby wipes/ dry my hair and back to the grind. Even after wearing my running gear for the second time!! ** the horror!** Otherwise I workout at night and almost always rinse off before bed. I do not wash my giant mop of hair after every workout, but then I rarely traditionally wash it anyway- I'm a "no-poo" girl.
I workout in the evenings during the week and in the mornings on weekends. I am the sweatiest human in the history of the universe, so I really must shower after every workout. But if I don't workout you are hard pressed to get me to take a shower.
I WHF and currently am in PT so my schedule has been off. Before I injured myself repeatedly, it was wake up, eat, work, run at 10am, shower, get dressed, shower before bed.
I'm usually a 2x a day showerer, more so in the summer or if I have gym or PT mid-day. I will often shower before PT (if it's in the afternoon), then after PT, then before bed. Summers I can't stand to get into bed with dirty feet from sandals. Yuck!
I shower twice almost every day, occasionally 3 times if I run during lunch.
I shower every morning before work and wash my hair. It is really fine and looks like a total greaseball if I don't wash it everyday. If I run at lunch I'll just take a quickie 3 minute shower just to get my stink off. Then I usually do another workout at night, so I shower after that as well. DH would kill me if I got into bed and was stinky and sweaty, so I always shower at night.
So I'm a huge water user with my 2-3 showers a day and constant washing of my stinky clothes.

I'm a SAHM, so there's some flex in my schedule. If I run in the morning with DD #2 after I drop DD #1 at school, I don't shower until after. If I plan to run in the evening by myself after DH gets home from work, I shower for the day in the morning, then shower again after my run.
I also didn't answer the laundry poll, but I wash everything after each wear. I do so much laundry anyway that it doesn't really add all that much more. Plus, I wear cheapie Old Navy and Target gear, so I have lots of it.
I shower after every workout, plus in the morning. When I workout at lunch, I take a quick shower at the gym and rinse off my body and get dressed into my work clothes and go back to work. When I work out in the evening (most times), I take a quick shower when I get home before I change into my PJs. I also shower normally in the morning, which is when I wash my hair.
Do you ever go on with your day without showering after a workout? Yes
Do you ever go to bed without showering? Yes
Do you wash/dry your hair every time you shower? No
I'm obviously extra nasty.
I'll join you in your nastiness.
I work out at night and will usually only shower after if H is home and I'm planning on getting some.
Confession: One particularly nasty/lazy night I went to personal training on Friday night, H wasn't home, and I wasn't going anywhere, and knowing that I was going to boot camp first thing in the morning on Saturday, I didn't bother to shower at all. That was a horrible, horrible idea, and I grossed myself out. Never again.
I work from home, so I've got a lot of flexibility in my schedule. On the days I swim, I get up, work until practice, then just shower after I get home.
On riding days, now that it's getting hot, I go out and ride right when I get up, so I'll shower when I get home. Prior to that, if I went out and rode in the afternoon or evening, if I showered depended on how sweaty I got or how much sunscreen I had on. So I would say slightly nasty. :-)

I am the same way - i run in the AM, shower - and then definitely in the summer shower before bed. I also can't stand having dirty feet from sandals/flip-flops!
I've been known to not shower after an afternoon workout if I don't sweat too much. Sometimes on the weekends I will work out then get busy doing errands and housework and not think about showering to the evening. I'm pretty gross

I usually work out in the morning, shower, and then I'm ready for the day.
Sometimes I do lunch time workouts, but I try to do things that don't make me sweat as much as cardio (like yoga or weights). I just wipe down, apply new deodorant, and I'm done.
If I run or do some other sweat-inducing cardio in the middle of the day, I'll take a shower but I don't re-wash my hair.
Do you ever go on with your day without showering after a workout? Um, not the whole day, but maybe part of the day. Like long run + grocery shopping without a shower on Saturdays. Or, if I run immediately after work I usually don't get to shower until 9 or 10PM because of other stuff going on at home. I won't ever wait until the next day; there is always a shower between my workout and my bed.
Do you ever go to bed without showering? See above. No. At least not without a shower since my last workout.
Do you wash/dry your hair every time you shower? I always wash my hair. I rarely dry my hair. I am one of those people who is gifted with hair that dries looking pretty much the same whether I "do" it or not.

My schedule varies.
On days I go to the office: AM workout, shower including wash hair (it is usually mostly wet after a workout so cannot skip) - I do let it air-dry on my commute and touch up with the hair dryer at work. I often workout after work too, trainer or bodyworks class (still get pretty sweaty), I will usually rinse off before getting into bed, but don't wet my hair b/c I will be working out and washing it in the morning before I see people. If I plan to skip my am workout, I will wash my hair at night.
On work from home days, pretty much the same thing, except I don't put on make-up and don't dry my hair. If I were running late, I would be ok with postponing the shower - but would prob only last until lunch b/c I feel gross and soggy.
On weekends, I usually run errands after my sweat-fest at the gym. I brush out my hair, wash my face, and put on moisturizer with SPF before leaving the gym, and put on a jacket or shirt. Once I get home I usually shower, but there have been days I just crawl into bed for a nap if I am beat.
I find that if I am busy until the sweat dries, I don't feel so gross if I skip my shower. But I hate putting clean clothes on my sweaty skin.
Yep, I'm a slob. I work out at noon most days during the work week, and although my gym has a shower, I don't have time to take one before having to get back to work. And after getting home, preparing dinner, getting L ready for bed, and prepping for the next day, I usually crash before getting into the shower. LOL, none of these are good justifications since most of us are busy and tired at day's end. I just need to make myself feel better for being dirty

During the week I shower as soon as FI gets home so he can watch our kids. As soon as I get home from my workout. I wash my face, spray dry shampoo and change my clothes. I don't feel that gross.
If I shower at the gym, I just do body wash, shampoo, conditioner. If I shower at home, I also shave.
Mon - PM workout (shower home) Tues - AM workout (shower at gym) Wed - PM workout (shower home) Thurs - AM workout (shower at gym) Fri - PM workout (shower home) (sometimes it's my day off too, so I skip showering altogether, since I shower the next morning anyway) Sat - PM workout (shower home) Sun - PM workout (shower home)
This means I only ever do anything with my hair on Sunday/Mondays. Tragic. For one, I don't have time to blow dry after class in the morning if I shower, and air drying leaves it a mess, so I have to pull it up.
I shower most days twice a day. If I work out first thing in the morning, I will shower when I get back. I will only shower again if I leave the house. H is weird about outside germs, he insists on showers before we get in bed if we've been outside.
I only co-wash my hair once a week most weeks, but I will in the middle of the week if I have a particularly sweaty workout. I shampoo my hair about every other week.
Man, if my H wouldn't make fun of me for being a mess, I'd hardly ever shower. He's been traveling a lot lately, and there have been many nights I've gotten in to bed "dirty."
In the summer after running outside, I always shower. It's just too much sweat. In the winter after running outside if it's cold, I always shower because it feels nice and warms me up. Gym workout? Yoga? Easy run in temperate weather? Maybe shower. Depends on if H is home. Hair? I wash it every 2-3 days. If it's sweaty I just blow-dry the sweat out and use a dry shampoo.
I feel like I'm constantly showering! I shower every morning after my morning workout and before work. If I have an afternoon workout, I shower after that (not after Pilates though). On Saturday, I try to wait until after my workout. On Sunday, I shower before church and again after my workout.
I shampoo any time I workout. And, I think I'm at about 12 showers per week.

If I workout before work, I shower, but most of my workouts are in the afternoon/evening. I sweat a ton. I've tried going without showering after less sweaty workouts, but I hate the feeling of dried sweat on me, and end up not sleeping well. Plus, my hair gets super oily after sweating, so I wash it each time.
