Is there any particular reason you want to wear skinny jeans, if you never like the way they look on you?
Because I like the look of them overall, feel like my other jeans look outdated, and know tht sometimes I take a long time to come around to trends that are fine for me to wear.

I have similar "stats" - 5'11" size 14 and I recently tried GAP's Real Straight jeans, and I like them a lot. They are not super skinny. I agree with the flow-y top suggestion. I think "they" say the most flattering style for my shape/size is boot cut, but sometimes (especially in the summer) I feel like bootcuts just have too much weight/material around my ankles. I know, weird. I like something more streamlined when I'm wearing flip flops and ballet flats.

This was a new trend almost a decade ago, though, wasn't it? Isn't it about on its way out by now?
I am hour glass shaped, but still pretty hippy and I like the Vera Wang skinny ankle jeans at Kohls. They are really flattering and they even have some in fun colors for the summer.
