give their CS a call....my charger/thinger wasn't plugging in properly (and it wouldn't charge) called their CS last week and they sent me a replacement free of charge!
I actually was able to replace mine a few months back after calling customer service. It was still under the one year warranty, all I had to do was ship back the damaged Kindle once I received my new one (in like 3 days). I also had to give my CC number, they charged me for the new kindle, but then credited it back once they received my old one. My issue though was that it cracked the screen, not the glass. . .but hopefully they can do the same for you.
Try calling Amazon customer service. DH dropped his phone on mine and cracked the screen. They said no problem and sent a new one to me the next day. I was pretty impressed.

How did you buy it and when? Try amazon CS first but if not if you used a credit card it may have an extended warranty (2yrs) that may cover it and they'll reimburse you so you can get another one.

Seriously, call Amazon. They will replace it.
My husband accidentally threw his on Halloween, and the screen cracked. He told Amazon it had fallen, they replaced it. Then, about a month ago (which was past his 1 year warranty) a crack appeared out of the blue. He called again, just to see, and they said no problem! It wasn't a hassle at all. They asked what was wrong, how it happened, and said they were sending us a new one!
