I just planted my strawberries today! I have 2 raised beds that DH made me - the other bed is going to be a row of beans, some purple carrots and a head of lettuce, a red pepper plant (Not sure how it will do out of a greenhouse around here, but I will try!), and a cucumber. Next year we are also going to plant raspberry bushes nearby. This is the first week it's safe to plant here...and even still I will have to cover them some nights, we can still have frost for another couple of weeks possibly.

Yep, I have two beds of strawberries, two beds full of various cucumbers and squash. Two new beds I'm filling up with tomato plants, lettuce, carrots, herbs. Oh and I have a pile of dirt/compost, I'm trying to grow cinderella pumpkins in. I want a green house so bad.

I have a couple raised beds. This year I did two tomato plants, two peppers, 8 lettuce, 4 broccoli, snap peas, green beans, and strawberries. The strawberries made it through the winter and nearly tripled their size, and there are maybe two dozen berries between the two plants that are ripening up. A vole ate three of my lettuce plants. Everything else is coming along nicely.

R is trying square foot gardening this year and will probably put our plants out really late. We just got our raised beds for them together last weekend.
Yep! I have 3 raised beds with 2 strawberries, 1 cantalope, 1 watermelon, 1 cucumber, 1 tomato, 2 bell peppers, 2 hot peppers, 4 cauliflower, 4 broccoli, chives, onions, garlic, parsley, and carrots. I think I have to replant the garlic though.
Around the rest of the garden I have 2 apple trees, a weird native-ish version of a blueberry, and a gooseberry.
I've got three in-ground beds. I'm doing a few types of tomatoes, a lot of peppers (H complained there weren't enough last year), white and black eggplant, strawberries, cantaloupe, watermelon, white corn, okra, brussel sprouts, zucchini and beets. Half of it is stuff I'm trying for the first time, so we'll see how it goes. Last year I had 12 tomato plants and it was out of control. This year I scaled back to six.
Our first garden got planted this weekend. We have 1/2 dozen tomato plants, 1/2 dozen pepper plants (red bell and jalapeƱos) and a mixed assortment of herbs. Fingers crossed that something actually grows!!

Yup big one. This is our second year and we're still laying it out, amending the soil, etc. We've got about 65% planted. We're working on laying a paver path throughout too.
2 dozen tomatoes, ~dozen pepper plants, two varieties of sunflowers, strawberries, eggplant, yellow squash, zucchini, cucumbers, corn, green beans, brussel sprouts, acorn squash, gourds, sugar pumpkins, apple trees, peach tree, blueberries, blackberries, various herbs, bulbs & flowers.
We probably bit off more than we can chew
peach be careful with raspberries, they can get invasive and out of control.
We have had raspberries before....we plant them in a ring with edging material around them....you get tons more berries than planting in a row for some reason and it stays contained nicely.

Me! It is 20x40 feet at the community garden in our town. I dug 10 3ft by 20ft raised beds (just dirt, I didn't build boxes).
1 bed is asparagus and strawberries One bed is arugula and cabbage One bed is kale and cauliflower One bed is beets and carrots and potatoes One bed is zucs and cucs One bed is tomatoes One bed is peppers and okra 2 beds of green beans One bed of watermelon.
It has been a ton of work getting it all tilled, weeded, etc. but I have everything in now except my last bed of beans. Now I just have to stay up on the weeding!
I started some seeds indoors probably 3 months ago- red onion, tomatoes (heirloom and Roma) and some jalapeƱos. The only thing that has made it thus far are the jalapeƱos which I have transferred outside. I don't have BIG hopes for them, because the plants themselves are till very small!

I'm renting a plot at the community garden. I planted snap peas, tomatoes (cherry, roma and better boy), cucumber, corn, edamame, peppers (bell and jalepeno), spaghetti squash, butternut squash, beets and zucchini.
I also have some herbs in a container on my front porch.
I'm planting this weekend! I can't wait. This will be our third year with a vegetable garden. Last year was awful, we didn't amend our soil and it showed. We got it tested in the fall and added everything that was recommended, so hopefully it will be fertile again this year. We will plant tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, and zucchini/summer squash. I'll get some herbs going in containers, too.
Does anyone have a rain barrel? We just installed ours a few weeks ago and it is definitely collecting water. The water is super murky looking, though. Is that normal? Is it okay to use?
I'm hoping to plant this weekend, between the rain and work we haven't been able to get anything done.
We will be planting: 2 types of potatoes White Onions Squash Zucchini 2 types of carrots corn green beans 2 types of lettuce Broccoli Cauliflower Watermelons We will plant a second crop of broccoli lettuce and turnips late fall too.
It's so interesting how the different climates make SUCH a difference on what we're growing. It's already past pea time for us, and if I don't see anything by next week, I'm going to start pulling the broccoli plants I have--it's just too hot in the deep south for those plants already. My lettuce was amazing this year (I have red and green romaine, red and green leaf), but I'm expecting that to get bitter soon too.
My asparagus is having a very mediocre season. I'm going to try and work those beds a little more, I wonder if the pH is off. I'm going to have onions, peppers, tomatoes, cukes, watermelons. I haven't gotten any eggplant yet, but I'm going to give it another go, since I've got the space for them. I've got a good amount of existing herbs (most are perennials in my zone) so I pretty much always have lavendar, rosemary, thyme and sage. My mint and catnip has come back despite my attempts at killing it. We have raspberries and blueberries but those are literally for the birds (we've never eaten those). My flower garden is pretty big as well.
I probably waited too long for broccoli for my area, but I'll give it a go. Last year's crop sucked. I got good lettuce up to the end of July last year, but the rest of everything can handle the heat pretty decently. I'm still working on fixing the soil for my garden area, it's been a hay field for the last few hundred years and wasn't the most well cared for hay field either. The dirt is hard, the weeds are abundant, but it'll do.
Me! I've only done tomatoes, peppers and herbs before. But this year we started a square foot garden and I LOVE this method. I planted spinach, onions, tomatoes, peppers, chives, snap peas, beets, carrots and strawberries. And this time we have a cage to keep the critters out. Last summer I'd barely got any tomatoes picked before something took a bite.
The SFG method is good for me with my rocky clay soil. You just build the square frame with a weed cloth bottom and fill it with a mixture of equal parts compost, peat moss, no tilling or digging. So far, so good. I have happy looking things sprouting up.
Yes! And it makes me so happy when I walk outside and look at it, lol.
I kind of went crazy this year. I have one SFG raised bed, filled with watermelon, patty pan squash, zucchini, heirloom tomato, roma tomato, red and green peppers, jalapeno peppers, eggplant, purple cabbage, broccoli, celery and lettuce. I am trying the vertical growing method for the squash, zucchini, and watermelon, along with pinching off the suckers on the tomato plants to help control their width as well as help with production (from what I've read).
But that one box wasn't quite enough for me, lol. I have Yukon golds growing in a trash can, baby lettuces in a hanging pot, snap peas in a large pot (trellised), carrots in a large pot, and a grape tomato in a large pot.
Everything is growing great, so even though I haven't been enjoying the pretty frequent rain here lately, my garden is loving it. I want to plant strawberries next year, but need to figure out which way I want to go with that. I'm thinking a vertical tower, so I need to figure all that out by next spring.
We do. Well, my h planted everything and I just maintain if while he travels. I know we have lettuce, tomatoes, beans of some sort and strawberries and a few others. I am very excited for the berries and they are really looking good. It's o exciting to see what's new each day.
