We had the anatomy scan this morning. Everything looks great with the baby. Unfortunately, the umbilical cord was between the baby's legs, so we did not find out if it's a boy or girl. Boo! I had a feeling that might happen.
The baby is measuring about 5 days behind gestational age (which is fine because it's been consistent), so is a little small to see some of the other things the doc wanted to see. We go back in 4 weeks.
The doc also said my placenta is really close to my cervix and he wants me to avoid sex until we go back. I am not too worried about this right now because he said it's likely to move.

Yay on a healthy baby! Boo on baby hiding the goods. Yep low lying placentas at 20ish weeks are likely to move up as things grow and shift so no need to worry just yet.

Thanks hope!
My BFF joked before the visit that the baby would be keeping her legs crossed and be modest like me if it was a girl.

We didn't find out but at our scan DD was putting it all out there and the tech had to snatch up the scanner and turn the screen fast. I saw enough it supported my suspicion that it was a girl.

YAY for a great anatomy scan!
I had an ultrasound at 16 weeks and I already knew the gender. The tech asked if we knew and I said yes and it was a boy. She said that 16 weeks was too early to definitively call gender from and ultrasound but that yes he certainly was a boy. The she scanned down and he was laying there with his legs kind of spread and it all just hanging out. I laughed inappropriately. I hope baby SKP is more cooperative showing the goods next time!

LOL That is a cute story.
The baby wasn't cooperative in getting the measurement for the back of the neck in our last appointment, so we may have stubborn baby on our hands.
