1. Lots of pockets for organization. I have a million and one bits of makeup and paper and medications that I tote around. I can't find them in the vast black hole!
2. Stylish
3. Under $60 preferably (yeah, I'm cheap)
4. Will survive 2 kids, pets, dogs and the beach
I was looking at the Butler bag, but I don't know if I love it. Meh.
I think you need to go to someplace like TJ Maxx or Marshall's. Or even Target has some cute purses, and probably faux leather would stand up better to kids and pets anyway.
I agree with all of this. Are you totally adverse to cloth? Think of the toss and wash possibilities!

instead of pockets in the purse can you organize your stuff in smaller bags? Like make up in a small make up bag, receipts in a flat folded wallet type, medications in another small make up bag?
Today I'm carrying a Kathy van Zeeland bag that my sister gave me as a gift. I think she got it at Marshall's and I can't imagine that she paid more than $30-50 for it.
I can't find the same style online (again, it was from Marshall's, so it was probably past-season when she bought it), but it's got an outside pocket where I keep my keys and work ID; a zippered section on the inside; the zippered section is in the middle so it divides the innards of the bag into two big sections; and then those sections have some pockets and slots for small items.

I could try that, but I'm not sure how that would work out with a hobo style bag?
