I decided to get a second opinion about my leg since the first sports doc was ignoring all the other leg issues and focusing on only the calf/foot issue. A lot of questionable things happened over the last week so I got in to OSU sports facility today for an eval. I showed up to register and found out the doctor had already ordered a knee x-ray. At least he was listening more than the other doctor and I didn't even need to see him! He says I have a really tight hip and very bad case of ITBS. It was a relief to have him point out stuff before I could point it out and every issue I had was explained away. The calf issue is from where the ITB is connecting and it can irritate the peroneal nerve which explains the lower leg issues.
8 weeks of PT and a gait analysis, and I hope I'll be back to running healthy!
The first doc thought you had exertional compartment syndrome right? This is awesome news and I hope PT gets you fixed up! I'm also getting a gait analysis done, next week, which should be really interesting.

Yes, I am so relieved! I can't get into PT until next month and he wants me in it for awhile before I do the analysis because my gait is so altered from my hip/injuries but I am so excited!
