We're down to these two types for our front door. I love the first one, but feel it's not private at all and wonder if that will be a problem. We live a sleepy, quiet community that is on a peninsula, so usually only folks who live there, come down the road. Majority of residents are 50-60+ (we slowly starting to bring the average age down )
I like more privacy so I vote #2. Unless your entry is closed in people driving by/walking by would be able to see straight into your home. Besides dentil shelf + flat recessed panels = craftsman door to me. Seeing that neither of those doors have flat recessed panels the dentil shelf is what takes it from looking traditional to craftsman.
Do you have any other craftsman details on your exterior? A traditional style might actually look better on your home if the door will be the only craftsman detail.
