It's a leave in conditioner that you use on damp hair to moisturize, help with shine, and protect it in the future from sun damage. I haven't used it more than once at this point, but have never had an Alterna product I didn't like. It goes on pretty light. Some of the reviewers complained that it made their hair oily, but I think they may have used too much since a little goes a long way with any Alterna line.
It has a light scent that's a little citrusy, but nice. It's free of parabens, sodium chloride, phthalates, gluten, synthetic colors, and mineral oil. It separates in the bottle and needs to be shaken, but doesn't seem sticky or heavy to me. Ulta just got it and it was in a display box with the promo hair sets. I'll let you know more once I've used it more.
Ooh I like that its free of icky stuff!! I look forward to your updates! I like using leave-in conditioners when I'm out in the sun anyways, especially if I'm gonna be in the water at all, so this may be a nice option.

Almost all of my hair products are free of the icky stuff. It's my big weakness. I'm a salon and hair product snob. I message my stylist between almost every appointment and she researches the hell out of everything she recommends. I manage to keep my hair really healthy despite the abuse from color.

I do too...I use sulfate free and silicone free shampoo/conditioner! I could probably do better with the products I use when I wear my hair straight (2 of the 3 has silicones), but I haven't found anything that works as well.
People always ask me how I can get my red and blue hair to stay so vibrant and not fade, and I pretty much attribute it to not using harsh crap on it, washing it every other day, color depositing conditioner, and an at home touch-up between coloring for my blue.

Did you see me mention Biomega Behave to MissHark? It's a smoothing elixir with keratin and UV protectants. It also helps keep color and can double as a heat protectant. They use it at my salon and literally can not keep it in stock.
My thermal protectant is Sojourn's Thermal Protection Straightener. I love this stuff. It's not quite a gel or cream, but it's also not greasy. It's goes in very light and works incredibly well.
This was something that the makers sought out my salon to carry. Most stylists don't know it exists, but everyone in the salon raves about both of these lines and products.
We use Kadus color for me which is a really gentle color and the reds hold incredibly well. My hair is still a really bright pink with very little fade. The pink is still bleeding a little when wet, but not into my hair. My friends are shocked since every one of them that's tried pink hasn't been able to keep it for more than a week or two, even when a salon does it. The bleach is a powder that gets rubbed in and lifts up to 7 shades. My salon owner has trained directly with Sam Bracato for over 20 years now and flies all over for clients. The only reason I don't want to move is because I love this salon so much. It will be seriously traumatic.
My Birchboxes both had serums in them that I plan to try. One is the Keratase Cristalliste and the other is Kelly Van Gogh Wonderlust Protectant and Tonic which was a full ounce sample. I'll let you know if either of those are good too.
