On Sunday we picked up a new grill from the Lowes in Nashua. We tied it securely into the bed of DH's pickup truck, but apparently they didn't screw the lid on properly and one of the bolts that holds the lid on fell out during transit. The lid basically damaged itself and scratched some paint off the main grill body from bouncing while we were driving. I opened a case with the generic Lowes customer service earlier this week and just talked to the local store manager on the phone. He immediately offered let us switch just the lid or the entire grill in store or he would have a new grill swapped at our house by Monday. He apologized that it would take a few days to set up the delivery and said we can use the damaged grill over the weekend if we want to. He was super nice and willing to do whatever was easiest for us. All for a $200 grill (that we got on sale for $160 , yay MM!) - not even an expensive one!
So yeah, this is my plug for Lowes in Nashua. I was pretty surprised at how accommodating they were!

Maybe it's a corporate thing with Lowe's. Years ago we bought something smallish, maybe a doorknob or a small handtool, (I don't really remember what it was, but it was on the order of probably $25), along with a few other items. When we got home we looked for the item and couldn't find it, and finally returned to the store, assuming we had left it in the carriage. Nope, nobody turned in an item left in a carriage, but, "Here," the manager said, "please take this replacement one for free." MONTHS later, there we found it, still in the Lowe's bag, hanging on a hook in the garage!
