Anybody have? Worth the money? Is there a cheaper alternative that works just as well? I joined a yoga studio and all the cool kids have this. And, I do slip.....

I borrowed a friends and tried them but didn't really like it, it kept bunching up under my feet when I was in warrior. I just got a new mat and that has reduced my slipping dramatically. I have the mat from lululemon, not fond of their stance on things but I do love the shit out of my mat.
ETA: You may be able to break your mat in more as well. I scrubbed my Manduka black mat with a dish brush and coarse salt a few times to get the slickness off of it.
I use a Yogitoes towel a lot and it has really helped my practice. The towel works best when it's slightly damp (either from sweat or sprtizing with a spray bottle). I also agree with PP: the Manduka mats have an anti-slip, cloth-like finish once they are broken in, and they are great.
Anyway, to answer your question, yes, I think Yogitoes and other good quality yoga gear is worth the money.
