Did anyone see this! Our friend just drive on it a few hours before it happened. How fucking scary would it be to just have a bridge collapse on you? I think about it a lot since we're such a bridge city. This will not help my anxiety about it!
A bridge collapsed in Minneapolis a few years ago. Was that the one you were thinking of?
No, there was another bridge collapse in WA in 2007, that's probably the one that I was thinking of.
This is happening way too often. Every time I drive over the Goethals Bridge (which is a lot, since I live in NJ and my brother lives in BK), I say a little prayer. That thing is so rickety.
If you didn't know what galloping gertie was watching this would make you think it was fake. It's hard to believe that metal and concrete can bed and twist like that and almost look like rubber.
I drive the agate pass bridge on an almost daily basis but its a small bridge and doesn't make me too nervous. Every time I drive over the Tacoma narrows bridge, the I90 floating bridge, or the hood canal bridge I get nervous.
I don't know if I have ever gone over the I5 bridge that collapsed and if I have it was when I was little and don't remember. I haven't been further north than Marysville in over 10 years.

I feel this way on the Pulaski Skyway. Even more so now that they announced that they're shutting it down for 2 years starting in 2014 because it's extremely worn out and needs major repair. Um, why not close it now then?

Ugh, I hate the Pulaski Skyway. Cars bursting out at you from all these hidden exits. Scary. A few days ago they had a goat running loose on it.
Re: the I-5 bridge, my Twitter news feeds are saying no fatalities. Thank goodness!!!
These past few months feel like there's been one tragedy after another in this country.
