Older DD has long outgrown the rubber duckie, stacking cups, etc.
I know there are those foam things that stick on the walls of the tub but I hate ripping of 10000000000000000 pieces every time I want to clean the tub. And I am anti-bath crayons.
Any cool water toys for 3 and up? I can order some sets of stuff from my school supply catalog - a set of floating turtles that you have to match their shells by shape, a magnetic fishing set, and some crabs that click together with letters of the alphabet on their backs but they are pretty pricey.
She seems content to just take in some plastic animals or whatever from her toy bin, but I'd like to have some fun toys specifically for bath time.
both of my kids take showers, but they love pouring water back and forth using a bunch of random containers . They use old shampoo bottles, squeeze bottles, funnels, etc.
we have different water pitchers (duck, flower, hippo)from the $1 bin at Target
DD has this tea set that you put water in the teapot and then it comes out of all these holes in the spout like a watering can. Rubber squirt toys...she has a Minnie and a Dora. Her favorite thing of all is a My Little Pony that she can wash, a Rubbermaid container that I used to use for pouring pancake batter and a smaller cup to pour into. Pouring was BIG at 3 and still is at almost 5. And it's cheap because all you need are two containers...for awhile she had 2 Red Solo cups. LOL
She also has a bunch of Barbies that she plays with only in the bath. They are just the $5 ones from Target that come as a single Barbie with a swimsuit.
I 2nd the cups and pouring toys. Even at 6yrs, DD loves to fill and pour.
you can't really go wrong with the plastic animals you mentioned. it's all about make believe now. and they don't get yucky or hold water like squirt toys.
i tried the bath crayons and share your sentiment on those, firmly "anti" now. but, for the foam ones, my son is actually content playing with just a few at a time (he has his favorite letters or words he likes to spell/play with). but, it sounds like you've tried the foam toys and maybe your child won't be content with just a few.
i love plastic non-squirt toys, too. great and hygenic!
Are you anti bath paints? We have some of those and they clean up right with the bathwater...unlike the crayons. Rubes actually takes a rag and wipes the walls down for me before she gets out, she thinks it's a game..ha!
Otherwise, I agree on the cups etc. Rubes is a bit younger but it's all she loves as do my older neices and nephews. Also, ladles, spatulas etc they can swirl with are a big hit. I also let her bring in her tractors, plastic animals etc. Whatever. Less crap I have to have around.
We have some dragonflies you pull the string on and they swim around and you have to catch them with a net. They're pretty sweet. I even "play" those with her.
Oh and a nail brush..both my neice and Rubes are obsessed with "pedicures" (scrubbing their toes in the tub).
Do you have a water/sand wheel? We love that too. Pour water, watch if flow and then spin out. It's relaxing actually.
