I'm riding in a biking event this weekend. I am NOT a biker at all (for now...hehehe...). The ride is 18 miles and I'm using a borrowed mountain bike - don't mock me! What in the world do I wear? The ride starts at 9 a.m. and the high is 67 degrees for the day. I was thinking black running capris, short sleeved wicking shirt, and a long-sleeved shirt. Does that sound sufficient?
Thanks for the input! They won't let anyone on the course without a helmet. Here's hoping for a good ride....and possibly the start of something new for me.
I will recommend that if you decide to get into cycling that you invest in a good pair of padded bike shorts. Just ask tuggyruns....anything over 10-15 miles and they really help with comfort. You'll be fine for tomorrow, though!

Thanks for all the input! The ride went well and I really enjoyed it. I ended up riding the 33 mile loop - the organized ride offered loops of 18 miles, 33 miles, and 43 miles. The only problem was that the two friends that I rode with showed up with semi-professional racing bikes, despite that they told me they were bringing mountain bikes like me. I had to work my tail off to keep up with them. I'm really proud of the ride and that I could keep up. It was a blast!
