I'm going tomorrow! Last time I scored a cool old mandarin orange wooden box, a coffee table to refinish, and a stack of picture frames. Oh and a Coleman juice/water dispenser for camping.
I wish I could, but I've had to work every Saturday :-( Plus the last time I went, people weren't selling anything good at all, just old useless junk. Old coffee mugs, SUPER outdated kids clothes (seriously, stuff from the 80's and 90's), crappy dishes.

My husband is lol. Last time he went, he bought a lighthouse painting and knick knacks for his mom and a metal gas can for us for like $2. I am not patient enough for that. Goodwill and the thrift store? Yes, I can do that. But I don't want to drive house to house. He said my aunt told him that there are THREE city wide sales where she lives next weekend (2 hours away) and he wants to go but a) those things start early and b) the three cities are not that big and I'm not entirely sure it'll be worth the drive lol. It'd be nice to see my family though!
I have to work tomorrow, but I'll hit up a few on my way in.
I always find the best things at yard sales. It definitely takes patience, but h and I make a morning ou rid it. We grab breakfast (bagels at Tim Horton's, haha) and make our rounds.
I went to one today. I bought a 1970 National Geographic Atlas of the World for $5. I know, I'm suck a geek to be excited about something like that. But it's in great shape and $5 was such a bargain. There's one selling on ebay for $124. I think $124 is a huge stretch, but it's probably worth at least $50.
I wish! Garage sales here used to be a big thing, but now it's all just crap. Old chipped dishes, junk lamps, really outdated clothes, broken toys etc. I think with the advent of CL and a really good thrift shop here garage sales are kind of on the "out." Nobody wants to go through the work when you can offload it in about 10 minutes otherwise.
I went on a roadtrip to visit my sister and we went looking for garage sales in her area...more of the same crap. Although there was a 90 year old lady in her bathrobe hawking her wares..lol...all the while b*tching about how her H wanted this "damn garage sale" but he was nowhere to be found. It was hilarious. And everything was worth a fortune. She wanted $70.00 for an outdated pack n play that was missing the cover..umm..new ones are like $50.00 at Target.
There used to be some really good ones though growing up. My mom found us so much cool stuff.
six?? WTF? Here they start at 9 or 10, which means that a herd of irly birds show up at 8:30.
I scored 3 wood frames, another 2 frames (these are all to refinish and re-sell) An old school reader which I am going to use the images from And a wooden calendar holder that I am going to turn into a chalkboard. Oh, and I got The 12 Tribes of Hattie and Casual Vacancy, both hardcover for $1.
