It's depressing. My mom and I went today. I feel so good about how I feel and I think I look different since I stared IM training. I feel strong and much leaner, I feel in shape. And then I go shopping and nothing fits. It's too small, too big, looks like ass. I tried on a bikini that I thought looked good (didn't like the color though) and my mom totally didn't like it, she said the shape could be better. Grrrr! I ended up not buying anything. It made me feel disgusted with my body even though I know I look better than I did in January.
I'm pretty sure I have vented about this before, but I hate shopping!!
Its not your body, its the clothes! Think of it like running shoes - not every bikini is right for every body... Keep trying, youll find some good stuff.

I hear you! I'm short and curvy with a cyclist's quads. I like my quads an my curves, but I have trouble finding clothes that fit. Bathing suits are the worst!

I went through the same thing the other day! I was so excited that my original size was too big for me, but for some reason the size down fit everywhere except my butt, and everything looked like crap.
I went to a consignment store and Title 9. Of course the consignment store isn't going to have different sizes in the same style. Title 9 always has cute clothes, but things fit so weird there. I've only been to Ahtleta once, I should go back

I'm sorry. I have the same problem, although I'm nowhere near as lean as you. Nothing ever fits right. Or if it does, it's so ridiculously expensive I'll just write it off.
I hear you. I feel like I look fine naked, but most clothes that I try on don't fit right at all. I am having a horrible time finding a swimsuit that I can take DD to swimming lessons in. Ugh.

Take my advice: two suits. Or one suit that practically goes up to your neck. Or BOTH.

EXACTLY. What I am worried about. She is going to try to tear my suit off. Maybe I'll wear my rash guard. Is that weird or smart?

Smart. /gavel Wear it over a bikini and you'll just look like a surfer chick.
Honestly, when I taught lessons, I *always* wore two suits - one for the kid to grab and the other to keep the girls under wraps. One of our other teachers wore her old water-polo suit to teach (LOL!) because there was nothing to grab that way.
Avoid anything with a low-ish scoop neck or v-neck. Or anything strapless (DUH) or with wimpy little straps.
