My LR is painted Stone Grey (Olympic) and my adjacent DR is that same color but at half strength. I really like the color and am considering painting my kitchen, half bath (right off the kitchen) and possibly the hallway the same color. It's just a nice, warm neutral that goes with a lot of my decor. Would it be weird to have that many rooms painted the same color?
FWIW, the extra bedrooms are beige, the main bath is a moss green and the MBR is a pale blue grey, so I'm definiely not doing the whole house the same color.
not at all. i much prefer the same colour throughout, especially in rooms that are visible from one another.
our kitchen, living, and hallway are the same grey, the bathroom is a shade or two darker (same as my kitchen cabinets, ha). my bedroom is mint green though :-)
We have different colors in all of our rooms, but many of them are just variations on the same shade and I'd wager you wouldn't even notice the difference as you walk room to room. So no, I don't think it's weird.
my master bath and basement are both revere pewter (BM, color matched to either behr or valspar paint/primer brands).
more obviously, our living and dining rooms are open to each other, so they are the same color. we got the paint at lowes, but it is latte shade (would have to go get the chip to state specifically). DH is talking about painting the rest of our foyer the same shade (also open to living/dining area), we had otherwise stopped at a wall edge/corner, so it worked fine for them to be different for awhile (and i might go a shade lighter than the living dining, too).

I sure hope not! I have 5 gallons of Tuscan Olive and plan to buy 5 gallons of Seashell this weekend. Aside from a little touchup, those are the only colors we are using. I figure that having fewer colors will make it a lot easier to touch things up over the years without going to the effort of completely repainting. Many colors, especially variations on a theme, can look really nice, but I don't personally think it is worth the effort.
It's a big house and aside from those two colors we are keeping the yellow in the living room, the gold and black (wallpaper) in the dinning room, the beige in the top half of the master bedroom and bath, and the Hawaiian-themed guest bedroom.
Oh, and some artist went crazy with murals in the laundry room. Which is a shame if you ask me. They are really nice and I'd've rather had them in the living room. They will stay, even though I'm the only one who gets to enjoy them.

I don't think it's weird.
Our dining room has chair rail, so the top is a light gray and the bottom is darker. I used the lighter color in the adjacent living room. Had enough of it left over that I also painted the guest room with it rather than waste money on new paint. I used the leftover dark gray to paint part of the powder room (it also has trim, so the very top is dark blue but I repainted the bottom gray from the original beige).
The downstairs and upstairs hallways are the same color. There's really no good place to switch without having it look weird.
Four years in this house and so far, nobody has noticed that I repurposed the same color in multiple places. Or, at least if they have, they've never said anything about it!
As for what I think is weird regarding using the same color or not using the same color in multiple spaces in a house....to me it less about that than it is about whether or not the color(s) work in the space. I have seen monochromatic homes that are stunning, ones that are boring, and ones that are just odd, and the same with homes with multiple colors. Actual colors and how they go with everything else, including the personalities of the people living there, are what makes it or breaks it.

Nope, go for it. Technically, I have 3 rooms and a hall all painted the same color but there is not really a defined ending point (semi-open layout) so I couldn't switch colors.
