What do you do with your hair when you run or work out? I've been twisting it into a bun and wearing a headband, but I think the twisting is starting to cause some breakage. My hair is super long and if I wear it in just a pony tail it hits my back and moves all over when I run. I'm dying for any ideas to keep it still and out of my face.
Mine is nearly to my butt and I usually just have it in a low pony, but lately I've been braiding the pony. Sometimes it's in a high pony. It doesn't bother me to be flipping around though.

I put it in a ponytail but then put a second hairband around that so I can loop my hair back through it - I don't really know how to describe it, but I basically but the length of the ponytail in half and end up with the ends of my hair facing upward. If my hair is really long, I then use bobby pins to hold the ends against my head. I hate when my hair moves when I'm running.
I don't have long hair anymore, but when I did, my hairdresser suggested that I braid it when I run to avoid breakage. Not like ponytail then braid, but just low braid, like Little House on the Prairie style.
For races & long workouts I French braid the very front bangs to the side (I think there's a better name for this) and then low braid the rest. For spin I do a messy bun, and then for lifting and shorter workouts just a pony.
Bun or ponytail that I don't pull all the way through. I find also that if I wear a baseball cap and pull my ponytail through the back it keeps it from hitting/flipping around on my back. Still moves obviously, but it isn't touching my back which is what drives me nuts.

Mid-height pony here. I kind of like it to flop around. In races, I'll take the water at the water station, drink half, then dip the end of my ponytail in the rest. When it swings, the water sort of flies around and keeps me cooler.

This is kind of like what I do. It's hard to explain, but I'll try. I start like I am putting my hair in a regular ponytail, and wrap the elastic around 3x. On the 4th wrap (or 3rd, depending on the elastic), I only pull half of my hair through so it's in a loop, and I angle the ends so they stick up instead of down onto my neck. I also wear a thin headband. I haven't found a headband that I love yet, but I need something there to keep the hair out of my face.
I put mine in a high pony most of the time and always have a second hair toe with me. In the dead of summer, I use the second hair tit to throw it up into a messy bun.
I have thick hair to that hits just below my bra line. I wear my hair in a low pony and braid it. Sometimes and extra elastic in the middle of the braid to keep everything secure.

I do the partial long pull through. Or wad up my hair and loop it through a hair tie. We call that a party at my house. DH has been known to do that to DDs hair and now she asks for a party in her hair:)
