Beside the stove? Forget it. I haven't even painted beside the fridge yet. I also don't paint inside the cabinets, though never have my painters. It gets worn from stuff rubbing on it and makes it harder to change the color if you ever change it. Eta: unless you mean the back of the drawer fronts, I do paint those.

I did anywhere where the old color was. Pulled the fridge out and did inside the well, fronts and backs of drawer faces, fronts and backs of doors ...
I did not take out the old microwave and wall oven, and I wish I had. Now that the old microwave is caput I have to touch that up, which will be an easy thing, but a coat of primer and three coats of paint just for approximately 1 sq ft of wood is kind of annoying.
I was a slacker. I didn't do behind the drawer fronts or the insides of the bottom cabinets. I have a slide in range so I didn't do the sides of the cabinets, but I did do the sides of the top cabinets that show near the microwave. I also did the inside of the top cabinets because they have windows at the top.

this.
we also removed the dishwasher and painted in there as well (it was coming out to have new floors put in anyway). we also removed the OTR microwave and painted in there (microwave is being replaced as well as backsplash).
it's a freaking pain in the ass. not sure I would ever do it again in such a large kitchen.

I painted my cabients twice last year. The second time I was a little less fastidious b/c who the heck wants to paint cabinets twice(!). A couple months ago I went back and did some touch ups on the inside of the cabinets.
