We went to Lowes and Menards today and didn't find anything. I think it also needs to be freezer on top or bottom, no french doors due to space issues. Where else to check besides Sears? I need to see it in person.

What are your space concerns that you think French doors wouldn't work? I think most counter depth fridges are freezer on the bottom with French door fridge on top. I love that configuration.
In my experience, there aren't a ton on the floor anywhere. DH and I drove to several different HD and Lowes stores all over town because each would have one or two CD on the floor. I also looked at local appliance stores.
We have a counter depth fridge. We got it from a place called Famous Tate but I don't believe they are a national store. The exact fridge we bought is also sold at Lowes.
Also check out Sears outlet stores if you have any. We bought our last fridge (also side by side counter depth) at the Sears Outlet and we loved it. had no problems.
We have a counter depth but it is a side by side. We got it at Lowes and it's a Samsung. I love it. Let me know if you want me to track down which one it is specifically.

I think we only have about 38 inches to work with and most french door styles are almost that wide. This kitchen is smallish and I don't want the fridge to look massive and I'm concerned with having enough space to open the doors. We haven't moved in yet so I'm not confident that french doors won't work, I'm just trying to research options.

We have a Samsung, but it's French door. They are hard to find in person, but many companies make the same fridge in both standard depth and counter depth. You can usually find the standard depth version in stores. It's not quite the same as seeing the exact fridge it in person, but it helps.
We got ours at Lowes, but Sears, HD and local shops also had some counter depths.
I'm kind of confused - french door HAS a freezer on the bottom.
Anyway, I have a Kitchen Aid counter depth french door/bottom freezer fridge. We bought it as a scratch & dent at a local appliance store. S&D took a nice bite out of the price that comes with counter depth fridges.
