It looks as though the only kitchen counter space is beside the sink. The bathroom vanity is also cluttered with things on the top which says to me they lack storage space for anything.
I really want to knock on their door and offer to stage and rephotograph their house...
So far from worst online listing. Sure, they could have done better, but if I was someone who didn't cook a lot, I wouldn't rule the house out based solely on the listing.
How do you cook with the stove against the fridge like that??
This is what I want to know! I dont think there is even enough room to swing a pot handle around to the outer edges of the stove.
And no it is probably not the worst. I guess I have been hanging out around here too long with our what to do for listing posts and nice houses. They have listed their house for sale before and I guess I would be trying harder to sell it the second time around.
It's not great but definitely not the worst listing ever, lol. They shouldn't have posted so many pictures of the kitchen. Leave something to the imagination since it IS so tiny.
But I know what you mean - after being on the nest and this site for as long as I have, and having recently gone through the home selling (and buying ) process myself, I am super critical of the listing photos I see.
A house in my neighborhood was just listed a few weeks ago and not only did the sellers overprice it ridiculously, but they didn't declutter at all. Apparently they are book hoarders and have more bookshelves than some libraries do. And while there's nothing wrong with reading and collecting books, there is something wrong with having every room photographed show a bookshelf (or 6, in some rooms) filled top to bottom with books. It makes the spaces look so small even though they aren't small spaces. When I saw the pics I cringed and wondered why the realtor didn't advise these people to declutter.
Those are the kind where to need to have some vision...if it's a good price (I don't know what houses go for down there but you'd never find something like that for $168k here) and imagine what it could be...Imagine all the clutter gone...sure kitchen seems small but is there an adjoining room where you can take a wall out and make it bigger?
I call those types of listings/homes "Charlie Brown Christmas Trees" where it's not that pretty to start but as Lucy says "With a little love..." you might be able to make something out of it.
Heck, look at what bunnymendelbaum did with her home and I bet that listing was pretty bad!!!

I agree it's not presented well, but I kind of like that. I feel like it turns off so many buyers easily and allows me the chance to get a deal. I'm regularly amazed at the stuff people seem unable to overlook. I mean, staging doesn't actually change the structure of the house, it just makes people think it's better than it is.
I also don't think it's that bad. I just assume grandma built that house, grandma lives there and now grandma wants to move to a retirement community.
It's outdated and some of the pics are weird, but I don't find it horrible at all.
Hell, where I come from (read: where the nest doesn't exist) it's pretty common to see pictures like that.
I'm also with Helio. I get staging and it makes things look great, but I highly doubt that generic-fying your photo frames is going to make me buy your house.
Totally not the worst house I've seen, but I agree that it does not show well online. The outside of the house is so cute, so I was surprised on the inside. You can certainly fix a lot of that house's issues with some new decor and paint. That kitchen, however, is something I'd gut and start over; it's just a bad layout.
