I went to SW to pick up some paint samples and left feeling a little uneasy about my choices. I have been thinking that I want to choose a gray for our bedroom, but the salesman said that it might not work as well as we want it to because we have hardwoods.
Do any of you have hardwoods and gray paint in your house? Any thoughts on this would be appreciated, and if it makes a difference we have a dark acacia.
I have grey walls and oak floors. I love it. Pics are in my bio, but seriously there are a million Greta , one to go with everything. If they are dark, think about a lighter grey maybe?

Perfect - I really appreciate input from the both of you! I think it's going to come down to getting some samples tomorrow to paint onto the walls. I've found a couple greige samples I want to see in person too.
Our master is painted Dolphin Grey, and last weekend I put in cherry Allure flooring. I actually LIKE the gray better than I did before the 'hardwoods' were in! I say go for it.

I have (almost orange) oak floors and gray walls in my bedroom. It looks fine. What's the worst that can happen, you buy another thing of paint and redo it? In the grand scheme of home decorating, paint is one of the easiest things to fix.
ok, don't laugh, but here it is. We were quite surprised to find this lovely wallpaper in our kitchen when we removed the wainscoting!
And I really appreciate everyone's help here. We ended up going with Behr perfect taupe in the family room and for our bedroom a combination of Behr perfect taupe and Behr intellectual will go on the wall behind our bed.
I can't wait to see it all come together... our house is such a hot mess right now, but after the floor is completely finished, and our master bathroom and new walkin closet are done I think it will be like an entirely different house!!
