peach, did you recap your first day at the shop? i wanna hear all about it!
also, i have some easy, inexpensive ideas for driftwood if you have a lake near you. (is there any place in BC that doesn't have a lake close by?) i made an anchor saturday night - 3 pieces of wood and some twine from the dollar store. basically free. we'll see how much it sells for!
It was fun! It's not a very busy place - I think there were only like a dozen people that came in, but I sold 8 items (not mine, but from the store) and apparently a lot of days it is a bit busier than that...
I really enjoyed it and I think I will do well there. There are 4 of us who sell stuff there and my style is definitely different than all of them, which is good..they don't like us to copy each other. The girl who owns the shop probably has the closest taste to mine, but I do mostly beachy/cottagey stuff with lots of white and blue and she is more colorful and likes to add quote stickers and cute words onto everything, so we each have our own trademarks.
I didn't put much in the shop yet, it is bursting at the seams and I felt weird shoving other people's stuff out of the way to make room for mine. Next week I will take another handful of items, I figure I'll just keep adding a few at a time rather than showing up with a whole trunk load...there is one lady who loves to come and overload the shop with too much stuff and I don't want to be like that.
Right now what I have in there is a white bench with a bird stenciled on the apron, some wreaths and garlands, a beach sign, and two chalkboards. I'd love to see your anchor idea! can I steal it?
I am working on a set of 3 wooden frames. I have an old school reader book I am going to frame images from, and the frames are a pale blue with some distressing. Super Super cute! And of course a bunch more stuff, but that is my current project.
