Runners who wear pants/tights..

When it is cold, do you wear fitted tights, or bootcut/looser pants?

I'm not feeling the flappy ankle thing lately, I might get some tighter ones.  It's getting cold here now, so I can't get away with capris anymore.

What type do you prefer?  If they are tight, are they also compression?

I wear tights or capris that are fitted all the way down. I have a few from Road Runner sports (like these www.roadrunnersports.com/rrs/products/RRL1136/) that I really like, a pair of Hot Chilis from REI for when it's really cold, the Lululemon Wonder Under crops that I love and sometimes wear running (but mostly use for kickboxing), and a pair from Athleta that are just ok.

ETA: I forgot I have two pair of Lululemon Inspire Crop pants that I love!

I prefer fitted tights for running, but I'll sometimes wear looser pants too. Once I get going, I don't really notice my legs as long as my upper body is warm.

I prefer fitted tights. I have a couple pairs of Nike tights that I love.

Fitted. Ive never run in bootcut panta but I can't imagine that being pleasant. Then again, I run in as little fabric as possible. I'm in booty shorts in any temp above 40.

I only wear.looser pants during the dead of winter when its so cold and windy that i hae to layer.

My favorite fitted tights are under armour, amd surprisingly gap.

I started in looser pants thinking they were more forgiving for my flabbiness. I learned to love tights though. Held things firmer and no annoying flapping. They also stay warmer because cold air doesn't sneak up the ankle opening.

I have both and I don't really have a preference for moderately cold weather. When it gets very cold (like sub-30), I prefer tights.

I like tights. If it gets cold enough, I will do a pair of warm up pants over tights.

I like my tights. I also had a pair of the looser fit pants and they were fine too but I caught myself picking my tights most days.

My old tights are just fitted spandex (Nike and Adidas), but my newer ones are all true compression tights (2XU). I also run in compression shorts/capris in warmer weather. Running is loose fitting bottoms of any type would drive me nuts.

Tights all the way. I don't like the ankle floppiness of bootcut pants. Mine aren't compression, just warm. When it's really cold I like my Sugoi sub zero tights.

I wear compression capris and pants from ON, I also have a pair of bootcut ones I ordered by mistake and ended up keeping them, I don't love them as much as the regular cut, I wore the pants all winter and the capris all summer last year, not sure if they are true compression material but they work well for me and I like the price

Def tights. When it is really cold I hate how the air travels up the bootcut.

I have a pair of LLL WunderUnders that are grest and also a pair of Nikey compression tights that are just as fabulous.

I have two pairs of long tights, one from RRS and one from VSX. I love both pretty equally, but the VSX pair got more love this winter since they have a wider waistband and thus were more accomodating of my growing belly. The RRS pair is slightly insulated though, so there's that. I only wear looser pants if its suuuuuper cold out (like, 15 or below) and I need an extra layer-I use my LLL Studio pants for that (especially now that they're beat to all hell and I'm even more in love with my Zella Move pants from Nordstrom than I was with the Studio pants).

I have two pair of Reebok that work great. They have a nice soft feel inside...not exactly fleecey, but still a bit thicker.

I've run in LLL groove pants and found the flared bottom to be annoying. Plus, the lack of skin contact let in a lot of cold air.

I prefer tights. I can only wear looser ones for cross training but I don't even really like doing that. I have a nike pair that I love and an old navy pair.
