I can't see the link, but if the bed har large openings that she can get a head stuck in, I would pass on it until she's older. We converted our cribs into toddler beds, but I have a lot of friends who did a mattress on the floor until they were sure their kiddo would not roll out. You can do that until you find a bed you really like.
I am fond of iron beds, but not necessarily for little ones. I do like the sturdiness of the real deal, but the spacing of the bars is iffy as far as safety goes, and my kids seemed to feel like the bed should be used as a jungle gym. lol
Is this it? I really like that, even in the blue. There's blue in the rug that can be picked up. But I know nothing about child safety, so this one might also be a death trap

If this is the one posted above, I love this bed! So pretty!
I shoot, sorry that link isn't working. It's tough to pip from the phone and I don't get it. But yes, that's the bed I was thinking about. I like it. I love theviron beds, but I'm afraid she'd impale herself on the posts if she jumps in the bed. The child has a giant noodle, so I'm not so worried about getting her head caught, but it just seems like the iron bed would have a higher chance of injury
I love the day bed you posted, I had a day bed with a trundle growing up and thought it was the best thing ever. My grandma would sleep on the trundle when she visited and it was like an amazing sleepover.
Problem #1: not sold anymore Problem #2: i have a general no-pottery-barn-furniture rule.
should I try to build it? We are going to put her on a mattress/box spring on the floor for now anyway just so she's safe and doesn't hurt herself - i could take the time to build one while she learns not to roll out of bed?
I think you should build it. You can take your time while she is on a mattress on the floor.
How old is she?
My youngest climbed out of the crib at 15 months. Until she learned to fall asleep without having to be held (which she had done just fine in the crib), bed time was a living hell. Did I mention that she had a habit of crying herself to sleep from the time she was an infant? It was a weird routine of hers (not really like cio...more like a pattern of sounds that she needed to make/hear}that I think caused some hearing loss in one ear for DH, since bedtime was mostly his job.
