So far in the past week we have had in our yard a snake, 5 mice, and a 2 foot long snapper turtle. Our neighbors had a coyote. Our neighborhood was a horse riding pasture for a long time before there were houses so I'm not sure how many animals were displaced 10 years or so ago when it was sold, I think it is more from the highway they are expanding close to us. I feel so bad for them
That sounds like us! Ive only seen one coyote (by our front entrance) last year, but we can't sleep with our windows open in the summer because they yip and howl all night. We get turkeys passing by on the regular too. We had a neighbor boy last year that had a "petting zoo" of all the animals he had caught- snakes, HUGE toads (like as big as my face). I love seeing all the wildlife!
I feel ya. We have possums, raccoons, turkeys, deer, owls, hawks, woodchucks, and various other rodents. I have heard but not seen coyotes and we had a black bear sighting about 2 miles from our house last summer (we live in a pretty suburban area so that was kind of crazy).
I feel awful too. Our house is a new construction, and there's houses going up around us. It seems like the major animals being misplaced are bunnies and mice. I feel awful for all the bunnies. We see them out every evening.
